Jmart007 wrote: The Cavs 22-2 run was obviously the difference in the game, but if there is any question as to why the home team is 22-1 in this series, this game is a clear example of why. You saw this in Game 5 in LA with the Jazz and it happened again tonight. The Celtics were getting absolutely no calls underneath the hoop. None. And that last "charge" on Pierce was absolutely embarassing. Yes, he had his arm in Lebron's stomach, but he did not push. That cost the Celtics a possesion and at least 20 seconds off the clock. I'm not saying Pierce or someone else would've made a basket there, but it cost them a lot of time. And EVERY game in San Antonio... I honestly do not understand how any person could actually CHEER for such a team

It took the Lakers eleven minutes to match the thirty-three points the Celtics had after twenty-four minutes.

Fouls were 25-16 Boston, the Cavs took 12 more free throws. This wasn't even the always settle for the jump shot Celtics, they took it inside plenty of times and just never got a single call.

I can't take the refs argument for ALL of the 6 Celts losses on the road - including a #8 team. A couple ok but everyone - something else is wrong.

I don't think anyone has debated that the refs were the reason why the Celtics have lost all of their road games so far. This is really the only game so far where the refs did play somewhat of a factor. As I said before, the 22-2 runs by the Cavs was the reason the Celtics lost the game. But if that "charge" wasn't called on Pierce, at worst they would've had another 20 seconds of possesion. That saying I think the refs have been a factor this round. 22-1 (probably 2 shortly with the Lakers) for the home teams in the playoffs in the second round no less, just doesn't happen.

Hubie's pretty much rooting for the Jazz at this point.

LeBron, once again, does not show up in the closing minutes. The love for him is disgusting.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
It's like he's the ANTI Michael Jordan!!!
With Michael, you give him the ball, he wins it.
With LeBron, you give him the ball, he loses it.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
My god........ I don't think even during the Super Bowl did my heart beat so fast. That's going to go down as a classic. Pierce and Lebron, back and forth back and forth. Munk's right though. I'm not going to say James choked because he had 45 points and single-handedly kept the Cavaliers in the game, but that missed free throw was an absolute punch to the stomach for the Cavs. For the majority of the game though it was very similar to Bird/Wilkins. With that in mind, I don't think that could've played out more perfectly for the Pistons. No matter who came out of this game they were coming out bruised. However I think there are two things right now that are looking good for the Celtics. Pierce finally got going. If that carries over and it's not just Garnett against the world, they're in good shape. Someone needs to jolt Ray Allen to life though. It's inexcusable that Doc was forced to sit him for the first 10 minutes of the fourth. Yes, he did make two clutch free throws, but four points just isn't going to cut it, especially against the Pistons. The second is, for the first time in the entire playoffs (and this is with all of their home games in mind) the Celtics looked intense. Even though the Cavs made that little run, the Celtics never looked like they were pushed around in this game, and they're going to need to keep that going against the Pistons. As for the Pistons, I'm not sure which team gets the edge in terms of going into the series. Does it benefit the Pistons that they'll have had a week off before going into Game 1 at the Garden? Yes and no. Does it benefit the Celtics that they had to go to another Game 7 and one that was hard fought the whole way through? Yes and no. They get the day off and hopefully they can keep it going. And yeah, this is probably another series that goes 7. The Celtics have to win at least once in the Palace though.

 Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
What a game! The best TEAM won.
And for real, lebron hate? are you kidding me? OVERRATED? This game is a true testiment that it i sflatout RIDICULOUS that anybody other than LeBron won MVP.
Punch in the stomach my ass, it would have been absurd if the cavs advanced cause aside from James nobody else did shit. That steal from pierce followed by the dunk or those 2 quick 3's?
