Are there any particular game moments that you will always remember? Moments that are so incredible that they will live with you forever.

My favorite moment was sometime early in the 05-06 basketball season when Billups was injured and got blood all over his jersey and had to take it off and change it in front of all the cameras.

Baseball: Previously mentioned, Sox winning in 05.

Basketball: Mo Cheeks come out to help that girl get through the national anthem. That was one of the coolest and sweetest things ever. Kind of funny... Chicago has 6 NBA titles and that's my favorite basketball moment. Guess it shows you how much I care about Basketball. Or rather, how little.

Hockey: Don't remember any

Tennis: Goran Ivanesovic winning Wimbledon for the first, and only, time. After so many years of losing tough matches in the finals, you could tell how much it meant to him. Was a very emotional final, and I don't think any Tennis moment will ever beat it.

Football: Bears crushing New Orleans in the NFC Championship game after most picked the Saints to move on. At least it felt that way.


Overall I'd say Sox winning in 2005 followed very closely by Goran Ivanesovic winning Wimbledon.

Favorite hockey moment was watching my dad cry tears of joy in '97 when the Red Wings won the Stanley Cup for the first time that he could remember. (He was 4 for the previous win.) And then again in '98 because they won it for Konstantinov. Actually, watching Konstantinov on the ice in a wheelchair with the Stanley Cup was pretty damn moving.

On Friday he and Germany's No. 1 player, Boris Becker, labored for six hours and 38 minutes in a match that echoed Budge's and von Cramm's 1937 classic. But Becker prevailed 4-6, 15-13 (tiebreakers are not used in Davis Cup play), 8-10, 6-2, 6-2, and Germany went on to win, three matches to two

All the Pistons Championships... The Pistons thumping the Lakers in 2004 and 1989, and them beating Portland in 1990.

Seeing a Pistons vs. Celtics game in 1989 at the Silverdome with 60,000 crazy, loud fans in an exciting win was by far my favorite sporting moment that I attended. Saw Larry Bird, Mchale, Parrish, Isiah, Dumars, Laimbeer, Marhorn, Rodman, etc...

Other moments: Tayshaun's block on Reggie Miller in the 2004 playoffs, any time Barry Sanders touched the ball, seeing a game at Yankee Stadium, Kirk Gibson's homer in the World Series, and the brawl at the Palace.

Yeah that was awesome, on a monday too. The crowd was crazy.

2004 World Series and 2001 Super Bowl.

The Red Sox winning the World Series in 2004. I don't care if you're a diehard Yankee supporter, you're not a real baseball fan if you weren't at least listening to the radio when that little bit of history happened. And this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly care for the Sox (even though almost everyone on my mom's side of the family is from Mass.)

Other than that, I'd have to say either Edgar Martinez's game-winning double against the Yankees in the 1995 ALDS or "a beautiful bunt by Carlos Guillen!" to win over the White Sox in the 2000 ALDS. (I was at that game.) Those are the two big moments in the history of Mariners baseball, and I love me some Mariners even though they suck harder than a porn star at the present moment.

I actually did not care at all about the Red Sox winning the World Series. Now, beating the Yankees one series prior was something I cared about. That was exciting. It was Yankees vs Red Sox and Red Sox came back from a 3-0 deficit. That was exciting. Breaking some ridiculous, made-up curse? Who cares?

BOOM!

Baseball: I don't like baseball, but without question the Red Sox thing. I agree with jujubee that coming back from 3-0 against the Yankees was more exciting than the actual World Series.

Football: Giants ruining the Patriots' perfect season

Soccer: Greece winning the Eurocup. They were 150-1 odds coming in. That was sweet.

Hockey: Hard to say, it's hard to pick the Edmonton and Calgary finals runs because they lost, so I guess I'll go with Colorado winning in 2001 in the seventh game against New Jersey. I kind of felt the Devils were like the evil nemesis of the NHL, so seeing Colorado coming back from the 3-2 series deposit and Ray Bourque finally winning the Cup was pretty nice.

Basketball: Well as a Raptors fan, the most memorable moments in the relatively crappy franchise history were heartbreaks (Carter missing the game winning buzzer shot in Game 7 in the second round of the 2001 playoffs against Philly, Chris Childs being throwing up a dumb shot thinking they were down 4 instead of 3 on the last play in the deciding Game 5 against Detroit the following year, losing on the last play AGAIN in Game 6 last year against New Jersey), so I guess I'll have to go with this play from last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIzDsYHZvDU That was easily the best and most defining moment of my favorite Raptors season so far. Getting the #1 pick was also pretty exhilarating, even if we picked a gigantic vagina of a player with it As for non-Raptor moments, two that come to mind are Detroit beating the Lakers in 5 in the 04 finals (really great underdog work) and Lebron's 29 of 30 thing last year.

Bulls @ Pistons, 1991 Playoffs, G4: Bad Boys are history



They ended years of frustration. They ended the Detroit Pistons' two-year reign as champions. And now, the Chicago Bulls can begin thinking about playing in the NBA finals for the first time.

Making it look easy, the Bulls completed a four-game sweep of the Pistons with a 115-94 victory today at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Chicago dominated the Eastern Conference finals from start to finish, brushing aside the proud Pistons as if they were a nuisance instead of the defending champions.

"To say that this is unexpected, to sweep this team, is an understatement," said Phil Jackson, Chicago's coach. "But after losing to this team for three years, I think we deserve a shot."

The Pistons tried physical play, lineup changes and anything else they could think of to avoid being dethroned at home. None of it worked. The Bulls were too determined, too poised and too good to be denied. And now, Michael Jordan (29 points on 11-for-17 shooting along with nine rebounds, nine assists) and the Bulls have an impressive 11-1 record in the playoffs.

"We didn't want it any other way," said Jordan, who added more luster to his extraordinary seven-year career by reaching the NBA finals for the first time. "We wanted to beat Detroit. That way, there wouldn't be any tarnish to what we accomplished.
We surprised a lot of people, and we surprised ourselves. We didn't feel we could sweep this team, but we knew we could beat them. We had to accept every beating, every push and every elbow they gave us and stay focused on our goal. I was glad to see our team stay so focused."

Play took on a violent nature at times, and one play during the second quarter was particularly ugly. After driving to the basket, Scottie Pippen (23 points, six rebounds, 10 assists) was confronted in midair by Bill Laimbeer and Dennis Rodman. Laimbeer shoved Pippen in the chest, then Rodman added to Pippen's pain by pushing Pippen out of bounds into the first row of seats.

Chicago turned the game into a rout in the third quarter, building a 57-50 halftime lead into an 87-70 lead after three quarters. The closer the Bulls got to victory, the more determined they became. Their swarming defense frustrated the Pistons. And their offense worked efficiently as they passed smartly, made open shots and gave the ball to Jordan whenever they were in doubt.

With 4 minutes 38 seconds left and trailing by 103-80, the Pistons conceded. Daly removed Isiah Thomas (16 points) and Joe Dumars from the game as the Pistons hugged each other on the bench, knowing their dream of winning three consecutive titles had died.

"At this point, I think Chicago's a better club than we are," Daly said. "Any club that can handle us four straight deserves to go to the finals."

These teams have met in the playoffs for four consecutive years, and there is much hostility between them. As Jackson said: "This is a team that humiliated, mocked us and beat us physically. But they were one of the toughest champions this league has seen in awhile. I think all the injuries they suffered this year took away their will to defend the title at the same level."

When it was over, the jubilant Bulls ran into their locker room, yelling and screaming. A series with either the Lakers or the Trail Blazers awaited them. But tonight, it was time to celebrate.

Rev - that was a highlight. Man I miss the early 90s NBA.

There are really two for me. The first one happened in 1989


That drive was amazing, I was just a kid but I remember it so well. It didn't hurt that Montana was my hero. Watch how perfect he was on that drive. Really he should have been MVP in that game. Rice only got it because he got the reception record.

The other one is obvious being a Red Sox fan when the Sox won the WS in 2004. It was just a moment of a lifetime for us Red Sox fans.

that was my first super bowl i saw from beginning to end.
a year before my dad was being a dick and wouldn't let me watch the Skins/Broncos game.
only caught the first couple minutes before he change the channel. i still hate him for that.
