The Suns had 17 missed free throws tonight. 11 of them came from Shaq. Gee, think if the Suns could rewind back to February, they might think twice about making that deal?

If the other guys made their free throws they be winning the game.
You don't get Shaq for his free throw shooting skills.

Neither Spurs or Hornets are winning. Lakers win West, Cavs win East again, Lakers win Finals.

i'm rooting for Rockets/Hornets vs Magic/Cavs finals.

Well when the Spurs decided to play hack-a-Shaq, that pretty much took away the Suns opportunity to do anything on offense. Yes, if the other free throw shooters had made those six they would've won the game, but that's a little unfair.

Shaq's a liability that the Suns didn't need to have and they got him. What they do from here on out both in terms of roster moves and next season will be interesting to see.

Don't even blame this on Shaq.

This falls solely on the refs. 100%

It's undeniable how big of idiots they are.

Well, the J-Kidd and Shaq trades both landed with a thud tonight. The only teams with big trades this year that still look like good moves are the Celtics and Lakers.

Nice to see the Pistons roll in an easy victory for their 2nd in a row! I think Philly losing game 4 when they had a comfortable lead at halftime really took the wind out of their sails. They seemed like a different team tonight - kind of lackluster. Detroit needs to beat them while they're down in game 6 and move on to Orlando.

Good job Spurs, Suns are just no match for you guys.

Suns with Stephon Marbury
2003: Spurs beat Suns 4-2 in first round (Spurs eventual champions)

Suns with Steve Nash
2005: Spurs beat Suns 4-1 in conference finals (Spurs eventual champions)
2007: Spurs beat Suns 4-2 in conference finals (Spurs eventual champions)
2008: Spurs beat Suns 4-1 in first round (Spurs again champs?)

Well, I wont mind.

Oh, and if D'Antoni ends up in Toronto next year... I won't be a happy camper

Not that our team wouldn't be the most fitting place for him, but yeah, I don't like him. And I'd rather try to switch things around to a defensive team on the fly, we've still got lots of time to change.

Hey man, I'm with ya. I was just dreaming about trading Ford, Rasho's expiring contract, and our next two 1st round draft picks for Melo. There can't be THAT many better deals out there for the Nuggets. I assume Melo wouldn't like playing in Canada though. :hahaha:

I knew as soon as the Cavs started playing the ridiculously retarded burn clock when you are only up by 2 possessions strategy they were going to lose. Letting the clock go down to 6 before you make a move never works. Why do people still do it? I don't get it. It just cost the Cavs the game.

Let me state the obvious. The Celtics needed that game and they got it. And the defense during the regular season that got them to this point and won them the first two games, showed up again tonight. It was a little shaky early in the second half when the Celtics had a fifteen point lead and then it got trimmed down to eight, but then they put their foot on the Hawks throat and just went out and dominated the rest of the game. And what was especially nice is that they didn't let their foot off the gas pedal even after Atlanta gave up. They just tried to bury and demoralize them heading back to Atlanta. And that block by Glen Davis was key in doing that.

The one thing that is still scaring me is the Celtics underneath the hoop. That almost cost them early on. If they can make basic layups and finish off dunks down in Atlanta, they should be fine.

well the Celtics needed this game and it almost got too close. Hope they can win in game 6 on the road, as they should, so it doesn't have to go 7.

There's no way Boston can lose this series now. Other than just killing Atlanta in the Garden so far, the refs just wouldn't allow the Celtics in lose at home in Game 7. The Hawks aren't walking into Boston and winning that game... No way. I expect Boston to win by at least 20 points if it gets there, though I really predict they win in 6 a la Detroit in the NHL this year.

I thought the Celts did good tonight, but man... they don't look quite as confident as they did when the series started, and I never was quite sure if they were going to put the Hawks away for good until late. It'll be interesting to see if this has any rammifications down the road.

The Cavs blew a chance to put the Wiz away. With the Cavs being a horrible road team, I wouldn't be surprised to see this go to a game 7.

It still amazes me that the best playoff series have been in the East so far. They've been very entertaining, even if it's not the result I wanted to see with the Pistons needing 6 or 7 games.
