Post Republicans vote AGAINST Mothers Day - yes, really
As if Republicans weren't a big enough joke in Washington, they just cast 178 party line votes AGAINST a measure honoring Mothers Day. Yes, the measure is silly, but a measure honoring Charleton Heston actually got nearly as many Republican SPONSORS, let alone votes.

And why would 178 Republicans vote against Mothers Day, aside from the obvious of them being total douche bags? Just because Democrats supported it. Seriously.

And with that kind of idiotic opposition to MOTHERS DAY, is it any wonder that they oppose teaching evolution and measures to fight global warming despite overwhelming scientific evidence that contradicts their position? The Democrats support it, and that's enough for them to oppose it. That's what they're reduced to these days. A morally and intellectually bankrupt party with the worst president in American history at the helm. Good luck in November, idiots.

It was a purely procedural tactic for the looming vote on the new war spending bill and had nothing to do with Mother's Day per se.

That makes it doubly stupid and massively hypocritical for the party that complained so much about "obstructionist Democrats" for the past 12 years, no? Can you imagine the hay they'd make if they'd gotten Dems to vote AGAINST Mother's Day - who they already claim are communist socialists who hate America, Christmas, religion, the soldiers, children and families?

What a bunch of clowns.

Shh...its Beeble. Let him on his soap box to spout his silliness that most of us know is overdrawn rhetoric and eventually he'll be quiet and those with reason can resume normal discussions (on the insanity of the Republican party no less).

You're either with Beeble or you're the absolute devil of science, reason, democracy, America and the universe.

I think when trying to pass yourself off as a champion of "reason," using hyperbole, ad hominem, and lies don't exactly help your argument, let alone uplift it.

I'm a champion of nothing other than my own mind. Anyway I have no idea where you come up with some of the things you say, but you know, it seems to be your modus operandi. See, I can use Latin too.

The term "ad hominem" is perfectly legit and often used in debate.

There are MUCH bigger things to bitch about Republicans than this. As Kidrock said, this is just procedural tactic. Happens all the time.

Oh, of course. But it sure is funny!
