 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
I can't believe you still think Tiger has even the slightest chance to win. The fat lady has sung, it's over. Woods can't even birdie a single Par 5 today, that's how ugly his game is. This is not only bad by Tiger's standards it is flat out terrible

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
As long as he doesn't two balls in the water at No. 15 like Rose did this year and Ogilvy last year, he has this one, may even be one of the biggest blowout wins not by Tiger in majors history.
I don't think we should be that hard on Tiger. There have only been 3 rounds of under-par turned in today, and none by the last 10 pairings. As bad as Tiger played, he could still finish even par for the day. Instead, I'm more amazed by how Immelman has held up. It reminds me somewhat of Goosen's U.S. Open win in 2004 (Goosen did putt much better), where his round was that much better in retrospect given how the whole field did that day.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
This is like watching the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
You know the Patriots/Tiger should win and can win. And you still think they can win until the final play/hole.
I hate watching underdogs beat greatness.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
Immelman is going to win multiple majors. You don't beat a field like this in a major by more than 5 shots by accident. Some years down the road, we're going to look back and say "how the heck did he get to double-digit under par at Masters that year?" The field average for the whole week is almost +2 per round.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
And I'm glad Immelman is there to seize the opportunity. If Tiger had played as bad he did and still finished tied for 1st and went on to win in a playoff, there is something wrong with the state of golf in term of talents.

I've never seen a golfer get so many damn good breaks than Immelman has gotten.

Oops, in the water!
He would take a 5-5-5 finish now.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
Oh man, in the bunker with very little green to work with. A 3-putt is certainly in play.
Immelman is going to be remembered either way, I guess.

He still has 3 shots left before he makes par!
5 shots left for double bogey!
So... until the ball goes in the hole... I'm gonna have faith.

Tiger essentially plays some of the worst golf I've seen him play and he finishes SECOND

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
Tiger played horrendous today. he easily should have finished -9 but couldn't get the breaks. How is it that even on a bad day, he still finishes second place? Why does the PGA Tour suck so much? Where are these young guys we have been hearing so much about who will step it up?

I'm telling everyone right now, Baddeley is gonna be BIG.
He's going to be #2 behind Tiger some day.

Tiger Woods will win the Grand Slam in the next 5 years.
Every golfer knows that when you start shooting off, it keeps going and going. Tiger showed today how weak the rest of the field really is when he can shoot even par and go from 6th to 2nd.

This win is the end of his lucky streak, and the last of his PGA career - - he's pulling a Dave Duval from here on in... That's two big losses in a row for Woods - - my prediction is well on it's way to coming true. Don't expect anymore wins for Tiger in 2008, or any year - - the only question remaining is how badly he's going to lose each time until he finally gives up...
