On Wednesday they will actually be televising the par 3 contest. Could be fun to watch. People I'm rooting for: 1. Steve Stricker 2. Sean O'Hair 3. Phil Mickelson 4. Jerry Kelly 5. Geoff Ogilvy 6. Tiger Woods People I'm NOT rooting for: 1. Zach Johnson 2. Vijay Singh 3. Rory Sabbatini 4. Anyone that I've never heard of before. What's the fun in that?

Woods is at +2... (Serves him right, after being too good to play in the traditional Par3 competition yesterday - - what a freakin' prima donna... )

Justin Rose is leading again. He has only played in Augusta 4 times, and this would be third time he is leading after round 1 if things hold. The record is only four.

I just hope he can maintain his form after round 1 this time I love the masters. Must have watched it every year since '89

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
And Here comes Lee Westwood! A sexy pre-tournament pick too given how well he has played lately in Europe.
Overall a pretty nice leaderboard.

Of all the players out there i think i'd like Westwood to win the most, he really deserves his first major. Hope he can finish the round well.

Ah, someone from +3 pleases drop a shot so that all the +4 players could play the weekend. Otherwise, we'd be left with the minimum of 44 players.

Once again Justin Rose fades after the opening round Good to see some brits towards the top of the leaderboard though, i'm cheering for Casey, Westwood and Poulter

Tiger is ONLY 6 back...
So unless Immelman goes OFF tomorrow, he still has a chance. Especially the way he plays on Sundays

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
i was hoping Tiger and Phil were going to pair up for the final round but nope Phil had to fuck it up. Tiger has a shot but then again he's never won a major when not leading after 54 holes.

Woods is playing awful this week. He'll never come back, probably won't finish top 3

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
I wonder if there's something going on in his private life. Have you ever seen Woods so openly frustrated on the course? He constantly fails to keep his emotions in check this week, he hasn't putted this bad in months and his superb bunker game is far off as well

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
A lot of his putts just haven't fallen in. He's rimmed the cup at least half a dozen times. He had a birdie today stop about half an inch short.
Bad luck can cause frustration. But all he needs is one amazing shot to turn it around.

He hit as many bad chips, pitches, putts and bunker shots as I have ever seen by him. His mind seems to be off the course. He should have cut the lead to three by now, everybody around was playing for him yet he still is 6 back. I haven't been more disappointed by Tiger in a long time. He doesn't even put on a fight

Steve Flesch is my pick to win right now. He looks steady, the other two, very very not.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
In Tiger's defense, he is the only person I've ever seen who could appear to play as bad as he is playing and still sits at -5 after 66 holes. It feels like he has done absolutely nothing for the whole week, but he will still finish in the top 5, at least 3 shots better than any other major winners in the field. That's the testimony of his talent.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
What a par save for Immelman, just when it's looking like the lead could shrink to 3 with Tiger putting for birdie at No. 13.
Feel the destiny is with him. I mean, how the ball didn't roll off to the hazard at No. 15 yesterday, I have no idea.

Missed short Birdie. Ugly iron shot, another terrible putt and and another shorter one missed. Tiger hasn't been this off since the death of his father.

 Re: PGA Tour 2008 Thread
This might be the worst I've seen Tiger play in a LONG time.
Yet he's +1 for the day and only 5 back.
The ONLY shot he has is to birdie out. That puts him at -8 and a 80% chance to win.
