Are you implying that Roy wasn't a good goalie? :P

Because the one the Habs have now (Price) is playing incredibly well. Perhaps the best goalie the Habs have had since Roy, I'm willing to say could potentially prove to be true.

Peace,
Mike

Roy was into his seventh year by '93, and had a Cup ring. Price hasn't even played in the playoffs yet.

Just sayin'......

It's true. Price lacks the experience, but I for one cannot wait to see what he can do in the playoffs (since I've already been lucky enough to see amazing games from him).

Peace,
Mike

So Detroit becomes the first team to officially clinch a playoff spot with their win tonight, and they clinched their division at the same time. Man, the Central Division sucks. :P

They should just give Lidstrom MVP one of these days... he goes out, Detroit sucks ass, he comes back, they're unbeatable again. Was about 100x more damaging than Crosby's injury.

Well Lidstrom is better than Crosby...

So... if you put 2 and 2 together...

The Bruins needed today's win badly against the Flyers for various reasons, the first of which is they finally won a game. And with that win and a Rangers loss, they're now only a point behind them for 6th in the conference. If they win in Washington tomrorow they'll slide into that spot.

In addition to that though, they finally got back the Tim Thomas they need in order to do anything in the playoffs. 24 saves on 26 shots. Now hopefully with the win and their two late goals, they can get their offense going, and get something started tomorrow in Washington and then next week against the Canadiens and Maple Leafs.

Well, at least the Bruins got a point. Now we just need to get some help from the Penguins on Tuesday and finally win a game against Montreal on Wednesday and then we'll have some kind of a hold on sixth place. It'd be nice to score more than a goal in a game though.

The Oilers just got their most improbable win of the season. Seriously.

They only need to go 7-2 over the rest of the season to have a realistic shot at the playoffs.

Well they play Vancouver twice, so if they theoretically win both the difference would be 1 point...

Phoenix's schedule is really hard so I look for them to fall out (they have Anaheim twice, San Jose twice, Dallas twice, LA twice, Edmonton and Vancouver once on the road). So barring a miracle there it's between Vancouver, Nashville, and maybe Edmonton.

WHAT A GAME.

Seriously, the Oilers should be in the East, considering how exciting their games are. Most of the Western teams are boooorrrrinnnngggggg.

Ovechkin got his 60th goal tonight, and in impressive fashion... Capitals were losing 3-1 with 10 minutes to go, they ended up winning 5-3, all the comeback points coming from his line.

Oilers are owning today in a must-win. Even if they don't make the playoffs this year, this little run they've had bodes well for their future, considering how many man-games they've lost to injury.

Oil love their nailbiting sketchy wins. :funny: Another fun game though.

Pens beat the Devils 7-1 tonight. 1st in the Northeast, 2nd in the East, 4th overall. Very, very nice. Their playoff spot is all but confirmed. With six or even seven more wins (only seven games left in their season), they might take the East! Considering their placement just two seasons ago, I think that's damn impressive.

Let's hope they don't fizzle out in the playoffs like last year. One slim win and four poundings against the Sens.

Not one win. Not one damn win against the Canadiens. On the bright side, we at least salvaged a point in the season series. The game did offer a glimmer of hope though if the Bruins do make the playoffs. They played well against the Habs last night. We just can't face them in any round, cause we'll get swept right out. If the Bruins do make it we have to hope someone overtakes them for first, or we somehow sneak into 7th. Anyone except for the Habs, and we might win a couple of games. It'd be nice if we could start to score more than two goals a game though.

Oilers are playing out of their mind right now. I wonder if they can keep it up.

Stupid Calgary, can't do anything right!

It's about fucking time. This was the first time since February 28th where the Bruins scored more than five times. And boy, at the end of the game tonight right after the empty net goal was scored, that place was absolutely silent. That was a good sound to hear. Hopefully the Bruins can beat the Maple Leafs again, this time at home, because it's going to be a tight finish. The Capitals just don't go away. On the bright side, we're still somehow only three out of sixth. Hopefully sixth place will remain a possibility after Thursday. The Bruins don't want any chance of playing the Habs if they get into the playoffs.

Luongo left his team to go be with his wife, who is about to give birth.

Hopefully he'll be out for a bit and Vancouver will drop out of the playoffs, even if Edmonton has an extremely slim chance of getting in in their place.

And with tonight's win, the Pens take the East and are 3rd overall in the league. I would be so happy if they could stay in the top five for the season. Last year, they finished 10th. I also hope that they realize that regular season playing is unacceptable in the playoffs. Their games with the Sens last year were a wee bit embarrassing, for the most part.

Valiant effort by the Oil, will probably have to wait till next year though. I think Nashville's getting in. Which is good, I hate Vancouver. And bad, because Nashville is lame and boring.

Is it just me or is it obviously Montreal's turn to be the Canadian team that loses in the finals? I'm thinking it's Anaheim that steps on them. I really don't like anyone else in the East (still think Pittsburgh is too young, Ottawa = lol... my 2nd choice might actually be Carolina :fear:) It's really the most logical matchup. More heartbreak, more awful ratings for the States. I think more people would watch in Quebec than in the entire US. :funny:
