2 questions.

What happned to CC in last year's playoffs as Boston hit him pretty good. Do you think that he was tired from pitching too many innings all year or Boston just had his number in that game.

They choked and were not prepared with a good game plan by the manager and coaching staff.

And do you think they will have any chance to sign CC. I think he is going to have another big year in this walk year as he is going for a big contract. So what are your opinions on CC and whether he will stay or go.

Sure they'll sign CC. Just like they signed Albert Belle, Jim Thome, and Manny Ramirez! He's gone, and if they fall out of the race, which is a distinct possibility, he'll be traded, and since they aren't going to win it all, and have an uphill battle to even make the playoffs this season, it's (unfortunately) the best scenerio.

1-0

Bad news: V-Mart pulled a hamstring. :( Bullpen also looked a little shaky, but it's only first day back so no need to worry about that. What I am worried about is Wedge batting Michaels 2nd when he never does anything offensively (he did make a good catch). Guess they don't wanna rush Ben Fransisco. Wedge must have his own reasons for not batting Drubs 2nd.

I'm just confused about why Jason Michaels still has a roster spot. Why wasn't Kenny Lofton picked up again? The team didn't take off last year when the Delluci/Michaels platoon was failing...

Can we learn not to strike out?

Sure, yesterday was a win, but it wasn't a dominating performance. The hitting was electric, but in times still reminiscent of last year. We did not look tough as a team; moreso, our players looked lucky...

This team is capable of so much:
Sizemore, Martinez, and Hafner should hit .290 and drive in/score 80+ runs each. Our under-the-radar starters - Blake, Gutierrez, Cabrera, Garko, and Peralta - are all solid and capable of .275 averages, with 70+ RBIs each.

Our pitching staff had a 3.61 ERA in 2005 and a 4.05-ish ERA in 2007. We have a powerful rotation and reliable bullpen.

So why is it, that every year, one side is strong, while the other side is weak? In '05 we had good pitching, no hitting. In '06 we had good hitting, no pitching. In '07, good pitching, no hitting. Can this please be the year where we get it together, and have a .275 batting average, and a 4.00 ERA? Is there anyway we won't win our division with those numbers?

I think I saw in a couple of places that the Indians are expected to go far, and maybe even a WS winner.

Maybe a Mets - Indians WS?

looks like martinez isn't injured too badly thank god. his mri was negative and they say he only has a slight strain. he might miss a few games but not much more. luckilly we have shoppach, who is probably the best backup catcher in the bigs.

I definitely would have been more comfortable if CC went out and dominated, but he picked up right where he left off in the playoffs. I hope Carmona doesn't follow suit.

HAFNER?!

Carmona's becoming a ground ball pitcher, I see. He's getting lucky with the double play.

(I wish I could be optimistic, but it's Cleveland we're talking about :P)

They don't even get a day off in between the home game tomorrow and the game in Oakland on Friday.

Lee looked good today. Hopefully once V-Mart gets back our offense will stop sucking. We shouldn't have lost 2 against Oakland, but whatever.

He sucks?

He's over-rated?

Ego got the best of him?

Pick one.

Fausto was awful today, too. I didn't pick them to win this year based on offensive reasons, but the pitching has been just as big of an issue. CC wasn't good in the playoffs (cost the team a World Series that they would have ended up winning) and he's been more of the same. Nothing wrong physically, so it comes down to his pitch selection and location. After his playoff showing, the book is out on him. He needs to adjust.

Half expected.

For whatever reason, Shapiro and Wedge made no moves in the offseason, and brought back a worse team.

man, if byrd and sabathia would get their heads out of their asses, the indians starting pitching would be dominant.

I'm not familiar with Indians' pitching, but is there a reason that Joe Borowski is still saving for them? Unless one is enamored with the most overrated stats in baseball (save), I have a hard time finding a reason; every inning he pitches is an adventure.

What's it like having a reliable closer?

He's on the team as the closer because he was a cheap solution that got lucky last year, and they decided to go with that again instead of getting a real closer.

He's on the DL for 2-4 weeks and Betancourt was named closer, although he won't be available tonight.

I've never seen a pitcher go from Ace to Dud do quickly.
