 Re: March Madness 2008
Sorry that Davidson lost.
But as this is the first time that all #1 teams have made it to the final four, it is nice that the best teams during the regular season now get the chance to play for the championship.

Don't get me wrong, I LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEE the game of basketball. But I watch the NBA for quality basketball, not NCAA. Even the best teams going against each other in the NCAA won't give me the kind of quality I want to see in a basketball game. But I bet at least one of the 3 games will be great and be worth it. We will see next Sat and Monday.

Rookie mistake. He is a sophomore. And he had three guys on him; the ball fake got one defender by, but another one quickly covered up. That's good defense. The one he'd be thinking about is the one he missed with about a minute to go that'd have cut the deficit to one. It doesn't matter. If he's as good as people say, he makes something happen so HE takes that shot. You don't give it up to someone when YOU are the team.

GO KANSAS! I got so tired of hearing how great Davidson was for the last two days, I am so glad they lost, and man were the refs trying so hard to give the game to them too, even the announcers had to say something.

 Re: March Madness 2008
So guessing the 2 Final Four Semi Games.
Memphis - UCLA > Think Memphis is playing better right now.
NC - Kansas > Think NC is playing better right now.

 Re: March Madness 2008
I think down the stretch they should've gave the ball to their other players, when Curry was cold. Seemed like they were hitting everything when they went up 4, then they expected Curry to come in and carried them and couldn't do it. Though he probably should've taken the last shot of the game in spite of that.

 Re: March Madness 2008
The match ups:
Kansas vs North Carolina
Kansas- Hasenbrow might be good, he might be great, but he will do very little shinning against a tough Kansas foward team, their defense down low is just too good for him to take the game away, and then old Roy and his run and gun team will be facing a team that can match their athletism and has the ability to play slower games much much better. I really feel good about Kansas on this one, but will experts pick them? Have they ever picked Kansas ever? No, so why start now?
Memphis vs UCLA
Now unlike the other game, this one is tougher to decide. Kansas to me seems much more piosed to win than either of these teams, but the way Memphis is playing now and seeing as UCLA is really a number two or three seed in terms of quality, I see Memphis winning this game.
Kansas vs Memphis
Pretty much identical teams, but I feel Kansas plays like more of a unit than any other team so they are harder to predict, so I give them the edge
So there you have it, Kansas will win it all this year!

 Re: March Madness 2008
glad hardly anyone picked Memphis as I have been cleaning up with them.
and to the above - at least the first half of Memphis-UCLA - was a good game.
The 4 #1's are working out.

 Re: March Madness 2008
UCLA just doesn't seem to have the offense when their defense runs into an all-around powerful team. This is the third year where UCLA lost by double digits in the final four.

 Re: March Madness 2008
Davidson would've beaten UNC today the way they're playing.

 Re: March Madness 2008
Those games just sucked. I mean the Kansas blowout (and near collapse) was a lousy game and UCLA-Memphis was never really close. Shows how little 4#1 means. This definitely won't compare to the Final Four of 98 when all 3 games were great ones.

 Re: March Madness 2008
For some reason I never get as excited for the Final 4/Championship games as I do the two weeks leading up to it. It almost feels kind of anticlimatic. Except maybe last year's final with Florida looking to repeat vs Oden, that was pretty awesome.

I am going with Memphis too, since they have never won and play in a mid major conference.

 Re: March Madness 2008
You gotta love how besides Jay Billiss, none of the ESPN analysists picked Kansas to win or to beat Memphis, Kansas entering as the underdog in the big game as usual.

I expect a 30 point+ spit between the two teams with Kansas on top. Rush and Chalmers with 30+ points each
