Post Great shows that got cancelled prematurely
The Comeback (HBO) - self deprecating humor at its best. It got better as the show went on. Remember the day when ratings didn't matter for cable networks.

Life As We Know It (ABC) - probably couldn't survive because it was on the wrong network. What is a teen drama doing on ABC anyway. Great show given a harsh timeslot with no support, remember how Thursday nights use to be for ABC. Surprisingly Kelly Osbourne can act, seriously.

Angel (WB) - deserved another season.

Popular (WB) - deserved another 2 more seasons.

Veronica Mars (CW) - deserved at least a 100 episode run to get syndication.

I agree with The Comeback.

I'll also say Once and Again. It got three seasons, but that wasn't enough.

I also loved 8 Simple Rules and Less Than Perfect. Those also got canceled prematurely.

8 Simple Rules was one of the better ABC comedies.

Firefly, aka the "Serenity TV Series". I got to see a bunch of shows recently and it shouldn't have been cancelled after 10 shows or whatever happened to it.

30 Rock won't be cancelled. It's the head of NBC's favorite show on the air.

Anyways,

Veronica Mars - I still miss this show. It at least deserved a proper send-off for the devoted fans. Kristen Bell and the rest of the cast are still open to doing something else with the series (such as a movie) so let's hope that happens in the near future.

Popular - One of the best teen shows in quite some time. It was hilarious, but also rang true at many points as well. The way it ended was just cruel to fans of the show.

The OC - It lasted four years and got a proper ending, yes. But it deserved to go on for longer, especially with the creative resurgance that took place in the fourth season. It's a shame that One Tree Hill will see six seasons while this couldn't make it that far

Fat Actress and The Comeback - Both hilarious sitcoms with great leads that should have been brought back.

Jack and Bobby - Another one-season wonder, this show was phenomenal and was easily television's most heartfelt hour when it aired. Sadly it never caught on with audiences the way it should have.

Commander-In-Chief - A great political drama with interesting characters and compelling storylines. I'm disappointed that the planned reunion movie was shelved.

Arrested Development - A given. One of the greatest television shows ever.

Not sure how many people watched but last year's The Traveler was cancelled after like 8 episodes when it was hot and in the middle of a number of story lines.

Definately The O.C.

Right when the show got better than ever, they cancel it. I would have loved loved to see at least ONE more full season.

Law & Order: Special Donut Unit.

It's like the network just glazed over it.

Once and Again - In its third season, it was as good as it ever was. Such an astounding character-driven work of art and probably one of the most true-to-life representation of families and people in general in the history of television.

Jack and Bobby - Cancelled after an amazing first season. A great loss. what a great show with top-notch acting.

Arrested Development - It could have still cranked out a couple more ingenious seasons, guaranteed!

I would say The Comeback but that show also works incredibly well as one season.

Invader Zim

It was just about to get really good, too.

Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared were also very good, but would not have benefited from 200-episode runs.

8 Simple Rules & The Comeback. Even that one with Jenna Elfman, on a couple years back (not D&G) was alright.

Far too many to make a complete list. Veronica Mars, Futurama, Arrested Development, Traveler, Drive, The Lone Gunmen, Harsh Realm, Millennium, Clerks: Animated, Stark Raving Mad, Studio 60, Tru Calling, Undeclared, Andy Richter Controls the Universe.

30 Rock seems invincible right now. It somehow has far more support than Arrested Development ever had.

Arrested Develpment

If I had to choose I would take off every single show on tv right now for just 1 more season of the best show ever.

Boomtown - they used flash pov before Lost was even on the air

Brisco County Jr - Anyone who remembers this show that it starred the great Bruce Campbell

Millenium - I thought parts of it were better than X-files. Too bad they didnt give it a chance to grow

All the great HBO shows like Carnivale and Deadwood

Firefly, Drive, Tru Calling, Wonderfalls ... Damn, those are all Fox shows! Who would've thunk it!

I also agree Angel deserved another year... I mean it's run was still pretty good, but there was more in the tank.

Agree with this too. I thought I was the only one of the planet who doesn't get that show.
