in todays day and age its very hard to not be elected to two terms. people fear change in that sense and it takes a very very strong candidate to make them do that. It will take more than 4 years for all of obamas supporter to abandon him.

It's even younger?

Is that what you're getting at? Because that's the only realistic connotation.

She could also tell her husband to try much much harder at bashing all her opponents too. She also needs some sort of top 10 list on the most trivial smear tactics.

Maybe my history teachers were always full of shit, but isn't it absolutely horrible for either party if the current president is not the nominee for a second term? It shows that the party is weak and can't trust itself. I can only think of one time in recent history that it has actually happened, which was Johnson, and we ended up with Nixon. That was a great choice there!

Bobby Kennedy would have beaten Nixon, but somebody didn't want him to.

One of my concerns is that the next president, whomever that may be, gets booted for an economic recession not of their own doing.

Hillary has no prayer in 2012 if Obama is elected. Unless he is assassinated (then I think his VP will be the nominee) he will be on the ballot in 2012. There has only been one occasion in the last 100 years where the party didn't nominate a sitting a president and that was because Johnson didn't run (though he would have lost anyway). You would have to go back to the 19th century to find other examples and most of those were more because of party politics and nominees were chosen by certain powerful people.

Nope. He dropped out of the primaries early on because he knew he wouldn't get the nom, at least not with the sort of numbers a sitting president should have gotten.

An economic recession is exactly what this country needs.

This sort of thinking, should Hillary share it, would reveal something very important that actually works against her, not in her favor.

It says that she puts her own quest for power ahead of what is best for both her party and her country. If she cared about either, instead of hoping for Obama's implosion and failure (or capitalizing on his assassination), she would help the Democratic president, whose platform she largely shares, pass monumental reforms to government that reduce our ill-conceived military actions abroad, that boost the economy by helping the poor and the middle class, that provide affordable health care to everyone, etc.

All of which I'm sure she'll do. The idea that any Democrat is assuming an Obama presidency so abysmal that it necessitates at 2012 competition for the nomination is highly unlikely, even for Hillary. If she loses this time, she'll be prepping for 2016, if she runs again at all.

For what it's worth and despite the fact that I'm not a sheep, er, supporter of the whole Obama phenomenon, I do hope this guy doesn't get killed if he is elected.. At best, if he's elected, I see him being a 1 term President mainly because he'll end up like Jimmy Carter was which was terrible and he was a lame duck and took Reagan to clean up HIS mess.. I don't think Obama will be a 2 term President at all and people will finally wake up, stop fainting from all these Hope and Change speeches he's spewing without being specific as to exactly what "Change" he proposes and go for someone else.. Honestly, I've never seen someone spout the word "Change" as much as he does without really saying much of anything at all during these speeches of his and people fall for it as though there not listening and are brainwashed like this is some sort of Cult..

He'll be a lame duck eventually, like all second term presidents. A lame duck president is just one who is not going to run again. If you mean he won't run for a second term, the chances of that are so small it's barely worth mentioning.

Quote:
He'll be killed once in office.

Drudge is working hard on this. He keeps broadcasting when Obama's security is lax.

Quote:
He'll serve two terms.

This seems likely, it's hard to unseat a sitting president unless they really screw up.

Quote:
Two of the three work in Hillary's favour.

But not all three are equal likelihood. There will be a woman president in our lifetime but it'll be someone more people find likable.

Actually on a kind of side note, it's not inconceivable that McCain could pick a woman vp who would then in 2012 be the republican front runner.

Yeah I'm not so sure anymore about her post-election future. She's going off the rails, not just with that photo but with screeching press conferences, sarcasm and mocking and any desperate thing she can think of.

Her supporters aren't taking it well either.

They are in scorched-earth mode now. The only thing that has ever mattered to her and her campaign is winning, everything and everyone else be damned.

In her latest utterly ridiculous volley of attacks, she accuse Obama of being the next Bush in foreign policy.

"We've seen the tragic result of having a president who had neither the experience nor the wisdom to manage our foreign policy and safeguard our national security. We can't let that happen again," she said.

Is that so, Hillary? Remind me again who voted for authorization of Bush's invasion of Iraq and who was against it from the beginning?

Here is the Clinton campaign's laughable response to this story: "If Barack Obama's campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.

“This is nothing more than an obvious and transparent attempt to distract from the serious issues confronting our country today and to attempt to create the very divisions they claim to decry. We will not be distracted.”

Remember, it was the HILLARY CAMPAIGN that mailed the photo in the first place!
