That's the thing about them, they distance themselves from the public, as if they think they are better than us. If anything the Media makes them look good. ESPN wants to fuck every single Patriot.

That's distancing themselves from the media. Which is a good thing to do, actually.

Ummm....no; they talk a lot. They just dont do the whole TRASH talk. They all speak they just say the right things. People are just sick of em being so god damned....perfect :tears: :tears:

Everybody jealous because Pats draft very well (Brady, offensive line, Watson, Maroney, Wilfork, Samuel) or take players with talent (wes welker, rodney harrison, bruschi) or under preformers (randy moss, donte stallworth) and make them good.

I never said you said ANYTHING about money. I brought up money because if the Patriots WERE like the Yankees, they would be buying players. So your comparison is FALSE.

Only when you are the underdog. When you aren't it makes you seem God-like, above the rest, which is not a good thing.

No, it's always a good thing to do. Never want to give the other team any kind of firepower. Which can happen even if you make an incredibly silly prediction like "Yeah, I think we're going to win. 105-102"

On the Pats, I think they played great in the first half of the year but in the second half, they had so many close games where they barely won and didn't look like the same team: Jets, Giants twice, Ravens, Chargers.

help this nonfan out, why does everyone dislike New England so much?

The honest answer, the same reason the 49ers were hated in the 80's and the Cowboys hated in the 90's. Because they won a lot of Super Bowl. Everybody hates the #1 team, it is the reason for the Yankee hate.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Cowboys were regarded as the America's team, and a lot of people were pulling for them to win all the Superbowls, until the popular Jimmy Johnson was fired, Jerry Jones' ego took center stage, and their players started getting into frequent drug troubles. Also I'd argue Yankees were hated not merely because of how much they've been winning, but the way they win, simply buying players whenever needed with an unlimited pocket. The perceived financial competitive imbalance created the dislike. If a team is built with smart draft and other maneuvers, like how Cowboys was built initially in the early 90s and how Spurs are winning, people are fine with it.

Maybe in Texas, I know very few non-Cowboy fans that liked them I hated them with a passion and prayed for the Bills to beat them both times. That America's team thing was crap. It comes from the 70's when they were on TV a lot. The Steelers were probably closer to America's team than the Cowboys.

You're about as thick headed as Levy.

Which, on a human level, is not a good thing.

bet it hurts more that it was done by a Manning. :funny:

It's hilarious how you talk shit all season. And we watch EVERY single one of your "teams" go down in flames. And you trash the Patriots EVERY week. And now FINALLY you're acting as if the Giants are "your" team. When clearly you're just an asshole.

The media did the same thing with the Niners and Montana. I remember Berman and John Madden were kissing Montana's ass all the time. They kissed it all the way to Kansas City. So what is the difference? The media does this to the best teams, The Niners, The Bulls, The Yankees, and recently the Patriots. Then the public decides to smear them because the tired of them winning.

I think Roger Stauback and Tom Landry had alot to do with the image and the name America's Team.

I never got that because the Steeler teams in the 70's seem more like blue collar Americans. The Cowboys were more flashy and actually only won 2 super bowls to the Steelers 4 and the Steelers beat them twice.

I hate the Cowboys for being referred to as "America's Team." I hate it when anyone references a team as "America's Team" unless it is actually America's team world wide competition.

I agree with this too. To me it shows arrogance.

Congrats to the NYG for becoming the worst team to win a SB. And congrats to the Pats for overtaking the Mavs as having the biggest meltdown of this decade.

Mavs never held that torch. The Yankees and their collapse topped them for sure. It's tight between them and the Pats for who has it now... definitley tight. I think I give the edge to the Pats, for the Yanks it was just another championship, for the Pats it was history and they fucked it up. They were hitting the black ball in the pool championships of pool championships, and knocked the white in...

It also reminds me of a story in the Olympics a few years back, the US shooter just had to hit the target in any place to secure the gold and it was a sure thing, then he missed and went home with nothing.

I read through everything from the start of the game on.

Levy has got to be the WORST fan in the history of sports.

Every other post is either hating on "his" team, or loving them.

I would NEVER do that.

I think it is worse for the Yankees because of the history between them and the Red Sox. They were up 3-0 on their rivals and the team that hadn't won in 86 years. I think that is a bigger deal.
