it was probably too hard to single out a defensive player. With the exception of Webster they all were amazing

My absolute congratulations to the Giants on their win. I along with the rest of the country wasn't expecting it, but that last drive by Manning was superb.

And whodathunk a dumb play calling decision by Belichick would cost the Patriots at least overtime? :grrr: Maybe......

Post Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
I was in a temporary depression and filled with anger after the game and am just now recovering.

HHmm. I can't completely say the Patriots lost it rather than it was the Giants winning it. That last drive was a certifiable luck festival but hey they got it done. They got it done....

Looking back on the Patriots next to last drive I'm beginning to wonder if they should have played that 1st and goal series differently. Instead of doing any running plays they went with pass plays that took very little time off the clock but one can't go back in time, however, I think it's worth bringing up in case anyone else wants to dwell on it.

I really feel terrible for players like Seau, Samuels, Welker and Moss plus the rest of the team because this was a history making game and now it's tarnished forever. That's how it all ends up sadly, 18-1.

I can't say I'm happy that the Giants won but I do give it up to Burress for catching the game winner, Eli for miraculously avoiding that sack and whomever it was that caught that prayer of a ball down the middle on that same play. I guess if I'm happy for anyone on that team it would be for Strahan for being the veteran and Coughlin for being the often pressured coach.

On to next season in a subdued emotional state......

I am sick mainly I have a dislike for the Giants because they ruined the run of my favorite team as a kid the 49ers and nearly broke Montana's back in the process. Of course an evil giant fan in my school didn't help matters. He razed me to no end. I am just glad the Pats aren't my favorite team. Of course my teams sucks so much it doesn't matter.

the great escape by Eli and the amazing catch by Tyree was UNBELIEVABLE!!! :D

That play will go down as one of the best in Super Bowl history.

The next time Patriots are in the Superbowl, the spread should just be 3 points, since all their Superbowl games since 2000 are decided by exactly that margin.

Considering what was at stake and the magnitude of it all, this was probably the single best football game I've ever seen. Incredible. Just incredible.
