You'd think they clinched a playoff spot.

Losing this game tonight would've been all different kinds of embarassing. That somehow did not happen. If this were any other team besides the Timberwolves, the Celtics would've lost this game tonight. The Wolves are just too young to close this kind of game out. There's just no excuse for giving up a 5-second inbounding call with less than 30 seconds to go in the game.

C's shouldn't have won this game tonight, but a win's a win and that's all that matters.

I like what Sam did with Bargnani tonight... he started off 1-7 and looked to be on his normal pace(he drops 20 once every 10 games, then follows it up with 9 2 or 5 point games, then the process repeats) but then we left him in there and let him jack up a couple more shots, and sure enough, some went in and he got more energized. He eventually ended with 13 and 7, the first time he's played solid back to back in about 3 months. Of course it helped that we were played the godawful Bucks and we didn't have to worry about the score, but anyways...

aw, the Heat won a game

oh and Damon Stoudamire got bought out today... not the biggest news, but applicable for here because it sounds like he'll go to Boston, Toronto, or Phoenix.

Good game for the Celtics, even though they lost. Seeing as they were without the MVP of the league, the fact that they came back from being down by 10+ twice in the second half and still almost won is pretty good. Great effort today. If they had KG they would've won. Oh well, still the best in the NBA by about three games.

ahem... i'm sure Chris Paul would have something to say about that.

Though then again, the fact that KG plays in Boston and is media-beloved and Paul plays in New Orleans and is under the radar might make a difference if things keep going this way. Though if the Hornets win the West, I think it'd be a crime if they didn't give it to him.

I hate when they just give it to the best player on the best team. LeBron should win this year, but if Paul won that'd be fine too.

But Paul is on the best team in the west? Wouldn't you hate that?

It's not the same (Paul doesn't have as good of a supporting cast and I doubt they'll be #1 by the end of the year). Just look at Dirk winning last year, it was a joke.

Paul's impact is bigger. Being #1 in the West and division of hell with West and Chandler as your sidekicks is a lot harder/insane than being #1 in the East with Pierce, Allen, and the easiest schedule in the league.

KG's amped up the Celts d and probably deserves to be top 3 right now, but if it ended today I couldn't give it to him.

But I think KG will still get it. The world loves Boston, and Paul is still insanely young and in a city no-one cares about... he couldn't break the top five of West guards in all-star voting if I'm not mistaken.

Post Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
Today was like the craziest day in the nba ever... almost every game had a late comeback or tight ending.

The best, the Nets are winning by 7 with a 1:20 left, T-Wolves roll off 10 straight to end the game, Nets lose 9th straight. I love it! How did we lose to them again.

The sad part:

7. Atlanta - 18-22 15 gb
8. Indiana - 19-26 16.5 gb
9. New Jersey - 18-26 17.0 gb

That's disgusting, and it'll probably just get worse considering Indy and NJ are in freefall. The Knicks are like 3 and a half back. If the Bucks dump Redd I think they can make a run for that spot too, I swear tonight was like the 5th time in a row they won when he was injured, he's definitley a Randolph more bad than good type.

I'd trade Larry Hughes for him. :D

Cavs are so getting the 3 seed this year anyways. LOL East.

Post Re: NBA 2007-2008 season
The rumors have been around for a while now (years, really), but Kidd himself said today he wants to be traded... think this might be the first time he's been upfront and verbal about it.

Quote:
Jason Kidd says it’s over. In an interview with Ric Bucher of ESPN, the Nets captain put it this way: “”Sometimes, when you ride a wave, you get to the end and that’s all there is. That’s where we are.” Kidd said his agent has been talking with the Nets about a trade since last year. “We tried to make this work. We’ve found out it doesn’t. It’s time for us all to move on.”

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3219395

I think the team that should try the hardest to get him is Dallas... they don't have much pieces to work with, but you think they'd be #1 on teams that need Kidd so they can win right now (Suns too, but obviously they don't need him).

Chris Webber signs with the Warriors. Now we have Don Nelson and Chris Webber on the team. The two people who contributed very much to the 13 years of suck Warrior fans had to go through. Welcome back.....I guess?

Words cannot truly express how awful the Heat are right now. Without KG or Ray Allen tonight, the Celtics are still beating the Heat by 35. Reily should just quit at this point. His team is going nowhere, he might as well just jump ship.

You let Leon Powe and Rajon Rondo drop 25 and 23 tonight on you Miami, is this really an NBA team?

aw, we almost kicked Washington's dog again (miracle shot to go to overtime, couldn't close the deal). Oh well, as long as we win tomorrow, I won't be too upset.

And Pierce only scored 7. :hahaha:

That means Miami gave up 110 points without Pierce, Garnett or Allen involved.

Spurs lost to the Sonics tonight. Would be a bigger shock if the Spurs weren't quietly playing like poop for a couple months now... their supporting cast kind of sucks this year.

It'd be something if Spurs somehow misses the playoff. In the west, anything is possible though.

And Rockets certainly look better without McGrady than without Yao. I'd trade the whole backcourt for Kidd though. And as good as Hornets are playing, I wouldn't mind to just squeeze in as a 7th or 8th seed to face them.
