 Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
I think Coaches should get every challenge back they win. Holmgren was forced to make a very obvious challenge very early. If he challenges again and loses that one, they're out of challenges.

 Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
I don't get some of the playcalling in the NFL. Redskins at their own 5 yard line, they go run, run and pass on 3rd and 10. Why wouldn't you throw in a play-action play on 1st or 2nd? Everybody ehinks you're running

Bwahaha.
So Sorry Steelmen. I like their coach but as I had a very tiny wager on this game I was all Jax even though I was mostly confident they would win anyway.

Dammit, I turned it off at 28-10. I can only take football in small doses, I had enough after the second half of the Seahawks game and first bit of the Jags-Steelers when it looked like a slaughter. I guess no-one was watching today?

 Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
I slept through most of the Seattle/Washington game and caught the end of the Pittsburgh game. The Steelers offensive line was absolutely pathetic, and one guy (whoever #79 is) who was supposed to give the block to give Rothlisberger more time, just flat out gave up and caused the rusher to break free and get to him. Absolutely pathetic. Same applies to number 23 (I think) who just let Gerrard run right by him to get the Jaguars to the 10. They deserved to lose that game even though it seemed that the Jaguars gave them every opportunity to win.

He actually played very smart today, had the occasional bad throw, but overall was outstanding for the second game in a row and finally in a game that meant something. More of that and we start to love you, Eli

 Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
San Diego sucks... so Indy should destroy them... and Jags can't really do anything on offense... so New England should roll... So everything is setting up for a Colts/NE AFC Championship.
Very nice.

 Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
Tom Brady has lost 2 games in the playoffs.
Last time he played Jax in the playoffs, he threw 3 TD's and won 28-3.

Last time he played Jax in the playoffs, he threw 3 TD's and won 28-3. Brady's going to be dominant. But Jags offense will come out firing as well. Firing what? Blanks?

Taylor/Jones-Drew will run it down the Pats D. But you can't win with just a running game. You need a pasisng game and Jags don't have that, thus will lose the game. But it will be a tight game for a while. The same thing happened with the Giants. All they really had was a run game, and we stopped it, and made Eli beat us. Garrard and his "weapons" can't win a game.

 Re: 2007 NFL Discussion
The only reason it was close was because the Giants have the weapons to throw it if they can get in the groove. Toomer/Burress and Jacobs out of the backfield.
The Jags have... Jones-Drew out of the backfield... and he's slow, even though I love how he plays.
But it won't be enough to come close.

If two teams play in the same division, one is 15-1, the other 14-2 and both are at the top of their conference that would mean they could face each other as early as the divisional round? Shouldn't be that way. Same with home field advantage. Whoever has the better record should get it

Baseball, basketball, and hockey all do the same thing. It does have its flaws yes. But the reason for this is to place greater emphasis on division games, which cerantily is not a bad thing. I agree it makes it tougher for the wild card teams. If you can't win your division you shouldn't get any breaks. So it looks like all the higher seeds should advance. The question is can any of the lower seeds win? The best case probably could be made for San Diego and then maybe the Giants, but I am not sure if either team could do it.
