Yeah he's back which is unbelievable considering how terrible he was.

Also in other news...

Mclaren found guilty but no penalty imposed...

They could have shown shots of Ron Dennis exchanging sexual favours with the Ferrari technical staff in exchange for complete access and the FIA would still have done nothing more then a slap on the wrist.

I mean im glad that the championship is safe to be decided on track but in the world of F1 the message is clear, be successful and you can break pretty much any rule you want.

The Yamamoto signing is a surprise, he's not to bad (showed a turn of pace near the end last season) but he's a pay driver if ever there was one.

And anybody taking bets on how long before Scott Speed walks out of Toro Rosso?

The whole affair stinks. But there are no winners. Mclaren did do wrong but werent punished - but if they were - it would have tarnished the championship had Ferrari won. Now if Mclarens wins the championship you cant help feel that its a slightly compromised win. The best result would be if they have a few DNFs and the Ferrari lads overhaul them.

Otherwise, why dont Mclaren hand over their blueprints to Ferrari and then Ferrari can 'promise' not to copy them ;)

Speed - he's a dead duck - doubt he'll even race next week. Looks like Vetel will be drafted in.

Hmmm all Mclaren front row. Ron looked pissed with Alonso's race engineer afterwards thought for holding Lewis up.

The Mclaren front row was expected for Hungary - but the controversy sure wasnt :mer:

Alonso showed what a slimeball he is. All that and he only wasa a tenth ahead of Lewis. Hopefully in the race justice is served and Hamilton beats him or atleast nerfs him off.

Alonso will start 6th (5 spot penalty) and Mclaren will get no constructers points from the race.

I think its good for the championship (Lewis dropping back) though as lets face it the races havnt been all that exciting. Alonso was the big winner as he was off the pace of the leading trio. Hence why he was so happy.

Though fuel adjusted Lewis did the best qualifying lap. Impressive!

Just a few hours away from a verdict. Im thinking a 2 race ban for Mclaren. We'll see.

HOLY SHIT!!!

Quote:

McLaren have been excluded from the 2007 and 2008 Formula One World Championships.

The Woking team, who faced the World Motor Sport Council for the second time in Paris today after new evidence came to light, were found guilty of using Ferrari's information in this year's Championship.

And the punishment is their exclusion from this year and next year's World Championships.

More to follow...

And what the hell are Prodrive going to do as well? They planned to use customer McLaren cars next year, no chance of that now.

And the story changes again.

Quote:
Breaking news from Paris: McLaren have been thrown out of the Constructors' Championship but both Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton will be allowed to compete for the Drivers' Championship. In addition, McLaren have been fined a record-breaking $100m

Interesting that you posted the first news report - i had no idea that news came out first - ive only seen the official version (was asleep ;) )

Well this is one GIANT FIAsco! Whats the use of a huge fine and removing WCC points and not removing the WDC points? Either they lose all points (of they are indeed guilty) or NONE! This taints a Mclaren championship win this year.

And Im totally against throwing them out of the 07 and especially 08 championships. A 2 race ban would have been better and given us a battle at the end of the season.

Alonso's an arrogant prick, and I don't care if he's a Spaniard.

Hey Price - are you Spanish? If so its refreshing to see that you are objective re: Alonso. On F1 boards alot of Spaniards harp on about the alonso persecution factor etc.

Gullimont wrote:

Yeah Im glad. I dont like Alonso one bit either. They had Lewis' dad and he mentioned that everytime he went over to Alonso's dad to comgratulate him on his sons win - Alonso Sr would ignore him.

Its now become clear that Alonso (while talented) succeeded at Renault because the team rallied soley behind him.

As for Vettel - what a shame because he went from being a revelation to being a chump. Still he was damn impressive. I think it was a chain reaction - Lewis drove too wide and then Webber braked way too much. Offcourse Vettel was too close behind but perhaps the spray didnt help wth visibility. Shame as Webber could have won and netted me $400 :mer:

Here is the incident on YouTube:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=8hWIfBkVQUk

Great drives from Heikki, Kimi, DC (who was wearing a Colin Mcrae helmet) and generally most of the field.

Fantastic race!!

Great win by Kimi and superb drive from Vetel! With Ham out - atleast the title battle will go down to the wire. Justice would be both Mclarens colliding and Kimi winning  Offcourse it will be down to the two Mclarens and in that case hopefully Hamilton wins.
