One of the best new dramas I've seen in years. It's got the power struggle chess move drama, but is also hilarious, and HBO does their thing by having an immediate contender for the best cast on TV with Brian Cox leading the way but also some roles like Matthew Macfadyen, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Alan Ruck being terrific (not to slight Jeremy Strong's near lead role). The directing and editing work is also a highlight. It's flying under the radar in ratings but has been taking off in terms of critical recognition the second half of the season.

Oooh heard about this when it was being developed then forgot it was ever made. Look forward to catching up on it. Is it a dram or comedy/dramedy?

Drama/comedy, I think its genre is drama but the black humor is a huge part of its appeal

Fantastic finale to a fantastic season. The Kendall's plot is a major punch to the gut. Terrific performances by all, as is true of every episode.

The series is incredible in regard to tone: it truly is at once grim and hilarious. I would say it is a drama first and foremost, but certain elements, such as Matthew Macfadyen's fascinating character and his jaundiced worldview (and his treatment of others), are perfect gallows humor. It shifts from farce to satire to suspense to tragedy with imperceptible ease.

I also love the score.

I've only seen the first few episodes of Season 1 but I can see myself loving this.

How does Season 2 stack up? Keeps getting better?

Yes, most people seem to think it gets better midway through season 1, and then even better in Season 2 so far and the reviews have spiked. I like the first few episodes of the first season as well but around episode 6 there is a climactic event that I think takes it to another level

Yeah, episode 2 was great with the scenes with the kids together and episode 3 just really lit a fire to it too. Excellent season so far and I'm glad we still have so much show left.

Hilarious episode this week, so many good moments

Well, I just finished it last week, another great season. I did feel that to some extent it has become less fresh, but it was still a good continuation with crispy dialogue and great acting.

The last two episodes were outstanding.

This show is building its legacy among all time prestige TV type dramas, it's definitely the title holder right now as the best reviewed drama its last two seasons and halfway to dominating awards again.

Bring on Season 4! Season 3 (especially the past two episodes) is fantastic!! Wouldn't shock me if an Emmy sweep happened!
