I was flipping through the channels, saw this, checked it out, and ended up watching the whole thing. It was sort of funny hearing what the stars had to say about dancing, and the judges are HARD. Not easy to impress, which is nice. No judge gave a score higher than 7 (out of 10) for the dancing, and the lowest score was 4.

PEACE, Mike ;)

Btw, the Supernanny re-run almost beat the Lost re-run.

What weird ratings. So that's a dancing competition? Was it a special or is it a new show? I can see ABC jumping at the opportunity to make it a full series if it's not.

This is what happens when there is only three new shows on the entire night. It's scary what some people will watch simply because nothing else is on.

I watched Beauty & the Geek last night and it was an entertaining show.

It's a summer reality show, not a special.

And that is a truely, bizarrely huge rating for a dancing show. I wonder how NBC's Hit Me Baby, One More Time will do. It's like American Idol, but with has beens such as Tiffany and Wang Chung.

So? Supernanny is a reality show that can easily be viewed out of order while Lost is a serialized drama.

But this was the first episode of Lost. Which I watched, by the way. I'm glad I'm finally getting a chance to watch this series, it's the best show on ABC since Millionaire.

Can i just point out how much America is borrowing from UK tv recently?

1. Dancing With the Stars is the US version of the UK'S "Strictly Come Dancing" which was a hit decades ago for the BBC - it was ressurected recently to major ratings success and continues to be a massive force on Saturday night tv. Top rated show which leads into the other massive hit for the network Dr Who; so im not surprised by these numbers.

2. Hit me Baby One More Time is the US version of the UK'S same named show which has been a moderate ratings success over here for Saturday nights.

3. American Idol is, of course, the US version of the UK'S Pop Idol/ PopStars.

Amoungst other shows adapted is The Office, Coupling, SuperNanny, Wife Swap, the list goes on and on but its safe to say that American execs seem to be increasingly looking to the United Kingdom for tv inspiration these days. I prefer American TV.

Fox has a new dancing show too, called So You Think You Can Dance I think.

Isnt that the adaptation of the Strictly Come Dancing spinoff - "Strictly Dance Fever" which is basically the same except without celebs?

Apart from Alias and Desperate Housewives, will America ever give us any good shows? Or are we to be subjected to more shitty comedies that have all the intellect of a small dog?

:P

Dancing with the stars? I thought that show would bomb big time. Oh, well, in a night full of reruns I guess it's understandable. But never again!!!

Hey, now. America has some TV shows that you Britons could only dream of.

Arrested Development over there? Ha! I didn't think so. (That's a guess. :))

1. Thats because America can afford to pump millions of dollars into tv shows :P
2. Yes we get Arrested Development, and most major american shows.
3. I like US tv alot more than our stuff - i like high production values in shows i watch.
But you cant beat Chewin the Fat or The Karen Dunbar show [to amazing scottish tv satires :D]
