Apparently the first 7 episodes will be volume 1 and volume 2 will be 2 film length episodes. Episodes 1-7 are all at least 75 minutes long

I didn't realize that Netflix cancelled this. They at least gave them a season 5 to wrap things up, but if Stranger Things isn't good enough for them then what is????

Anyways, this is still one of my favorite shows and I'm stoked that it is back.

I thought they were planning to end it after 5 anyway.

So looks like they've changed this week's release from 5 episodes to 7 - leaving the last two for July. Perhaps 5 episodes would have not been enough for most bingers.

I finished the first 7 episodes. Intriguing so far, but

the villain Vecna is just Pennywise where he morphs into the victims biggest fear or insecurity before killing them.

Mike, Will and Jonathan have nothing to do. Kept waiting for Will to tell Mike he loves him lol.

The Alaska plot is alright though full of filler. The main plot with Nancy, Dustin, Steve, Robin and Lucas and Max is most interesting.

But dayum the payoff was great. Now I did not see 001 becoming Vecma. Once I realized where they were going my mouth hit the floor. Those final loments of episode 7 were WONDERFUL.

Holy shit the last two episodes were incredible. Jesus Christ. The finale made me laugh, cry, cheer. They should seriously consider releasing the series finale in theaters.

Was hoping for sooner - but oh well.

The Duffer bros have confirmed episodes in S5 will be shorter (bar the finale).

I cant see how S5 will top this.

This will go down as one of the great seasons of any tv show in history. I'ts so good on so many levels and a major return to form for the show after less impressive 2nd and 3rd seasons.

And it certainly did make the 3 year wait worth it.

Just epic.

The way they made Vecna/Henry/001 the big bad of the whole series and they connected him directly to Eleven makes this season so much better storywise.

Vecna will go down in history as one of the best TV Big Bads ever. Just stellar writing overall.

Going into the finale tomorrow (saw it was 2.5hrs!!), and I've read nothing here and have avoided all spoilers online and from friends/family (well, besides two mild ones of Will crying in the RV, and knowing about the Kate Bush resurgence), and the build-up to it has been incredible. The season has been incredible so far.

I feel like one of the main characters are going to die, and I think they probably *should* given everything they've survived thus far and whatever happens next. Jonathan is at the top of my list, maybe saving Will or Nancy, followed by Steve. For the younger kids, I think they'll be safe given there's a season 5.

Wish I didn't know there was a season 5 (legit thought part 2 of 4 was the end end), because I'd think Eleven or Will would be the likely characters to die.

But... maybe no one will in the finale here or in season 5. Just feels unrealistic/impossible that there isn't at least one major character death.
