Still the best scene of all time

I can't agree, but having said that, it's a great scene and I can see why would think so. That's the great thing about Curb, there's so many best scenes and everyone has their favorite.

I do not know how anyone can narrow it down to one scene in Curb, let alone one scene in the history of television. I love the way he gets really angry and just tells her to "SHUT THE FUCK UP", but it's no where near my favourite scene.

It must be difficult, so I wonder how often they have to do a scene over because someone loses character and bursts out laughing.

I watched a blooper reel from Curb yesterday.

I just watched the playboy mansion episode, great stuff. What's the double-thing, when you are in a bad place you can do another bad thing and it won't be as bad :funny: .

The double transgression theory? That you can fuck up if you're already in the dog house and it doesn't matter - one apology can cover two fuck ups. lol

I could not possibly choose a favourite Curb scene, but one of my favourites is at Jason Alexander's Acting Without Acting book party between Jerry and Larry then Jason joins. In fact, pretty much any time Jerry is in the show, it's funnier.

Curb can also, on occasion, be educational. With regards to the entertainment industry when Larry and Richard share screen time but also with words such as "koufaxing" and terms such as the "carpool lane" (we call it "car share" in the UK), I had not heard these prior to watching the show. There are more but at this time I cannot recall them - a lot of them are Jewish-related. I have occasionally googled words that I hear on the show, and it's great to get a better understanding of Jewish customs and terms.

The terms "kike" and "jigaboo" (from Judge Horn) also. It is amazing how many different racial epithets that I'd never heard before are in the show.

In the Palestinian chicken episode, when he says "Labe, son of Nat". This is in reference to Larry's Jewish name, and his father is called Nat. I had to research to fully understand this. Some things in the show are so Jewish that I do not know immediately, so I need to research. But it makes the show better and I appreciate it more for knowing. Makes me closer to the show.

Two phrases you'll hear A LOT on Curb are:

"What's the difference?"

and

"What did you DO?"

New words Larry taught me: "Gentile" (to mean not Jewish) and "Hedonist" (to mean a pleasure seeker).

"OCCIDENTAL"

"Honey, please don't yell at my parents like that"

"I wasn't yelling. I was helping"

For what it's worth, I do not believe Richard Lewis coined the phrase "the _____ from hell". He may be the one to say it a lot in modern day comedy, but that has been around for hundreds of years.

An observation: There are recurring themes and annoyances in Curb that I have noticed. Besides the obvious ones of tipping, Christianity, and awkwardness regarding to whites and blacks, there is also an obsession with freaks (the freak book, Richard's Benadryl brownie girlfriend looking hideous, "You"'s son having a big dick etc.) and cheating (Jeff in general; Brad, Cheryl's tennis partner, the masseuse etc.).

What I don't quite understand is if Larry and Jeff act as though having a Christmas tree in the house is a weird thing for a Jew then why do they give Christmas tips at the club as a matter of annual routine. If you don't celebrate Christmas, surely you don't partake in any of the Christmas customs.

Ha..nice.

I'm in Season 8 now, wow, what a great ride so far. I couldn't be writing anything else than that's it's just been excellent through and through. From the vehicular fellatio, to everything Seinfeld, respecting wood and the social assassin. Damn, what fun.

"The Carpool Lane" is a great episode.
