Actually the second number is not the viewers, because baseball got 23mil viewers and Desperate Housewives got 22mil viewers. I have read what those numbers stand for a number of times, but i never really cared that much. The ridiculous Nielson ratings system has a number of flaws and is just a waste of time. Viewers is a much better way of gauging these things. |

Number of times? What does that mean? Different websites could have slightly different numbers. Those that you mentioned are close to these. |

The "number of times" thing was that i have read what these numbers 14.5/21 actually mean. One of the numbers is the number of households watching and the other number is the ratings share. The number of viewers does not change from website to website either, baseball got about 23mil viewers and Desperate Housewives got about 22mil viewers, that is fact. |

Actually you're all wrong ![]() 14.5 is the household rating. Which means 14.5% of all TV households in America are watching that particular TV show. (The number of actual households who are watching that tv show is also close to 14.5 million though since there are about 100 million households in the U.S....closer to 110 million.) The 22 is the share, meaning 22% of all household in America who are watching TV at that particular time are watching the TV show with that said share. |

Desperate Housewives did surprisingly well, and it was an excellent episode. |
