While ABC has not made an official announcement, they briefly (likely accidentally) published a video on their youtube page, a viral teaser for the upcoming show. The video shows some captured video of The Incredible Hulk causing destruction, captured from a distance. A small logo/badge that reads “Rising Tide” appears on the lower right hand part of the screen. While ABC has removed the video, it seems to still online elsewhere (for now). Watch the video now embedded after the jump.

It's Official: Joss Whedon's 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Ordered to Series at ABC
Quote:
It's official: Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on the air at ABC. The Joss Whedon drama based on the Marvel Comics property has landed a series order at the Disney-owned network, ABC announced Friday.
The ABC Studios project is based on Marvel Comics' secret intelligence organization that has appeared in countless titles, including Iron Man, Captain America and The Ultimates, since being introduced in the 1960s. The military law-enforcement agency's moniker stands for Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistic Directorate, which also has evolved over time in the comics. Whedon is on board to co-pen the pilot alongside his brother Jed Whedon and Jed's wife, Maurissa Tancharoen; the trio previously teamed on the three-part web series Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Avengers and Buffy the Vampire Slayer mastermind Whedon directed the pilot, which has had ABC social media accounts for months. S.H.I.E.L.D. is executive produced by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell and Marvel TV's Jeph Loeb. ER's Ming-Na stars as Agent Melinda May, The Avengers' Clark Gregg reprises his role as Agent Phil Coulson, Killing Lincoln's Brett Dalton is set as gruff rising star Agent Grant Ward, Elizabeth Henstridge as science whiz Agent Gemma Simmons and Iain DeCaestecker as tech guru Agent Leo Fitz, with Nashville's Chloe Bennet set as Skye, a superhero-obsessed woman. Since the project was first announced in August, it has been a clear front-runner to land on ABC's 2013-14 schedule. ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee told reporters in January that the project was being fast-tracked and he was "very hopeful" that the entry with a "great script" would go to series.
"Marvel has the ability to bring the whole family around it," Lee said at the time. "Joss has great relationships around it. There's a lot of real funny male-female relationships and flirtations, but it's also Joss and Marvel, so there's a lot of action to it." "My boss Bob Iger buys Marvel, and how wonderful is it for ABC to be able to use the core talent from that and not use the Marvel brand but the Avengers franchise for a show that is not exactly about the Avengers but is attached to it?" Lee said, noting that Whedon was already working on scripts at the time.
ABC will start a major marketing push for the high-profile project with a sizable built-in fan base Sunday, May 12, airing a first look at 8 p.m. ahead of the season finale of Once Upon a Time.

Re: ABC's Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Thread - First Look May
How many viewers is everyone expecting this to debut with? Maybe I'm crazy but I've always thought it would get at least 20 Million for the premiere. I'd say between 20-22.
Anyway, I myself am not interested in it though I do really like Clark Gregg. Definitely interested in seeing how it performs though.

I'm not interested in the show. But anything under 15 million for a premiere would be disappointing IMHO. They are counting on huge Marvel/Avengers appeal and they sure as hell aren't looking for a niche audience show.

Probably mid teens - though I doubt the series can regularly get over 10 million viewers. It just doesn't have the appeal of the movies unless they have consistent superhero and villain cameos.

This is one of those WTF were they thinking projects IMHO. Gives me Bionic Woman, Knight Rider vibes.

I personally think it's more likely to average that throughout the season but we'll see.

This show does not look good.
I may give the first episode a shot but it just seems so uninteresting.

Re: ABC's Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Thread - First Look May
In the TV spot I see most often, the tagline is: "NOT ALL HEROES...ARE SUPER."
Which I find strange, as if they are pitching it to the people who thought The Avengers would be ace if it weren't for the superheroes in it.

I think this show is going to suffer once people realize that none of the characters in the show are actually superheroes.

It will get over 20 million viewers and then drop down to 13 million in a course of 3-4 weeks. By the time it returns around spring time, the ratings will be down to 10 million and below.

No doubt Arrow will still be a better show, but I'm curious about this one

Ya, I thought it was solid. The humor worked for the most part. I liked the tie-in to Iron Man 3.

I've officially seen too much Joss Whedon material. I was calling the punchline to the "You'll never find us" bit the moment it started.

Re: ABC's Marvel's Agents of SHIELD Thread
I really didn't think that was great. It seemed way too pleased with itself and while Clark Gregg, Ming-Na and the guest appearance from Cobie Smulders were all great I thought all the newcomer actors sucked. The main girl in particular reminded me of a second-rate Eliza Dushku - she felt like she belonged in an ABC Family pilot or something Also, the male lead is unspeakably boring and the two of them have no chemistry.
There were a few one-liners I liked but this felt like an "NCIS" type series dressed up in superhero clothing. I'm going to watch another episode or two to see if it improves but this seems like it could go stale very quickly.

It was fine-ish. I was invested in Mike's story but I was bored during chunks and I didn't really click with the team (Skye especially struck me as annoying).
I'll give it two more episodes, but if it stays on this level I'm probably out.

Skye was REALLY annoying. And there were definitely segments that were incredibly dull for a series billed as so 'action-heavy.'

Skye felt like a character written for Eliza Dushku played by Eliza Dushku's attractive stand-in.
