Woo!!!

I'm really excited for this show! And that sneak peek is amazing, he made The Dark One cry.

I'm excited, but I hope it has more of a focus than season 2, which was kind of a mess.

Premiere was good. But this show needs to get more realistic about what they can do with their budget. The special effects sequences looked cheesier than ever tonight and it gives me a bad feeling about the whole Neverland storyline.

Episode was really good if you ignore the lame as VFXs.

They're seriously so horrible and distracting. And the weird thing is they've actually gotten worse over the years - I don't remember them being this bad in season 1.

Maybe cuz the show didn't use them as much.

I mean EVERY SCENE ON THE BOAT.

dear lord, VFXs took most of the feeling when Hook/Prince, Regina/Snow were fighting and it was supposed to be this big scene... that got trahsed by AWFUL special effects.

I couldn't get over the fact that every scene on the boat looked like it was shot in a giant swimming pool. It definitely took away from the 'epic' feel of any moment in that storyline.

Wasn't that the first time Regina/Snow get into a fight?!?!.

THEIR FIRST FIGHT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE EPIC!.

not what we got tonight.

Also that special that aired beforehand that kept diving into the 'mythology' of the show was another attempt by ABC to try and make everyone think this is the new "Lost." This is no "Lost" ;)

I think they could really benefit by getting rid of a few characters - there's a little too much going on right now.

Which ones would you get rid off?

Mulan and her crew (including baelfire) would be the first ones to go....

Actually. kill everyone but Regina and Rumple. Let them take Peter Pan on their own.

On a side note... why is Peter Pan so powerful? isn't The Dark One suppsoed to be like... the most powerful being alive? and Regina might not be Cora but she's pretty powerful too.

Peter Pan must have some special power, besides the Dark One is only the most powerful in the Enchanted Forest, who knows about other worlds. I thought it was a very good episodes, I admit the VFX had some problems.

Well Neverland is "run on imagination" and seemingly made of magic itself, so it looking like a little goofy visually doesn't bother me. David's longer hair and the actor who plays Neal getting skinny stuck out more, guess going through a portal has weird side effects :hahaha:

I thought it was fun and probably best premiere/finale other than the pilot. Lot of scenes I liked on their own like the birth, Greg/Tamara's demise, Regina's one liners/Emma's jump and the Pan reveal.

Regina was just her awesome self. She and Rumple were once again the bright spot of the show.

And the Pan reveal.... everyone saw it coming a mile away lol. I do like the creep weird way PEter Pan is.

OMG... THE FLYING MAP. how come SHIELD gets to have decent CGI and this gets... whatever that flying map was?.

Besides that, this was a great episode once again. I just find it so lol worthy how much Regina and Rumple are better than the rest.

I mean Regina raised her hand and took down like 4 guys while the others were having a hard time fighting one each. LOL

Better episode than the premiere. Liked the Emma, Rumple scenes a lot & Pan is a good big bad. Noticed this last year, but Once is getting very good at these flashbacks that are small in scope time/setting wise, now that there isn't as much big picture material to use.

I do miss the Storybrooke setting though.

Also lol @ the Rufio reference

I liked the episode. Hook is also growing on me, although he is starting to resemble more Jack Sparrow here of late.

Post Re: Once Upon A Time Season 3 / Once Upon a Time in Wonderla
I thought the Alice/Knave trouncing through Wonderland scenes in the pilot were delightful, but Jafar, the Red Queen and Cyrus will need time to make an impression. Not in the same class as the original Once pilot, but still lots of potential!

If you're confused about this, I had to read a few explanations online to understand how Alice's Victorian England (seemingly hundreds of years ago) could exist in same timeframe as present day Storybrooke. Basically the writers have said Alice's England isn't on Earth, it's a fictional realm like Wonderland, Neverland, Oz, etc. where Victorian set characters live. Think of it as Dickensland. Then when the White Rabbit met the Knave in Storybrooke, they went through a portal from Earth to Dickensland to get Alice

I liked Jafar a lot. He has a lot of potential to be an awesome bad guy. And I still hope he shows up on OUAT. They could be setting him up to be the baddie in the second half.

Of course an Evil Queen centric episode would be my favorite of the season yet.

Lana Parrilla is GOLD on this show.

That was awesome. Love you Once Upon A Time. Hopefully Tinkerbell comes back to Storybrooke and is made a regular because that actress was fantastic. The heart scene is one of the show's best ever IMO, freaking off the charts

Really liked the Mulan/Aurora scene too, pretty cool that despite being minor-ish recurring characters, that they're given a big moment like that! Warming up to Robin Hood too, guess he'll be a BFD now

Tinkerbell was played by Rose McIver, who I recognized from the Peter Jackson Lovely Bones film as the sister.

It was a solid episode.
