 "Togetherness"
Highly enjoyed the pilot of this. Great performances and authentic-seeming characters and relationships. I thought Amanda Peet stole the show in the pilot but everyone was excellent and the majority of it was quite charming. Excited to see where it goes.

 Re: "Togetherness" (Season 1)
I enjoyed the pilot a lot. Very charming and well-acted, with lots of nice, lived-in, subtle comic touches. Melanie Lynskey is such a beautiful and talented actress.
I only wish each episode was an hour long.

Yeah, I loved the pilot. Can't wait for more.

Second episode was great. I already love all the characters. And the 'seduction' scene was hilarious and so awkward.

 Re: "Togetherness" (Season 1)
I think I like this show so far. It's sorta awkward but endearingly lived in at the same time.

 Re: "Togetherness" (Season 1)
This is a wonderful series, definitely. Each character is endearing, and it is not hard to sympathize with their various ambitions, failures, and yearnings.
A pity there is only one episode left this season. It just flew by.

 Re: "Togetherness"
I enjoyed the premiere of the second season a lot. This is a very easy series to slip into again. It is so charming and natural.

 Re: "Togetherness"
Last night's episode was great. I really love the work Amanda Peet does here, especially.

 Re: "Togetherness"
The most recent episode is absolutely wonderful. Maybe the best of the entire series so far.

Amanda Peet is killing it this season. Definitely the MVP.

 Re: "Togetherness"
I hope it gets a third season. I know the ratings remain rather poor.

 Re: "Togetherness"
Based on "Changetown," Amanda Peet deserves the Emmy nom she won't get.

 Re: "Togetherness"
I hate to say it, but the season/series finale is far and away the worst episode of the entire show. The charter-school subplot, never a particular strong point, becomes absolutely inane. Goofy bullshit. There are so, so, SO many shots of people smiling, laughing, being awed; the fact the night is a -rousing success- is crudely and forcibly fed to viewers. The fact I am employed in an elementary school (in a special-education capacity) only intensified my cynicism watching this nonsense play out. At the last second, a smart and sensitive series badly plunged into the pits of entitlement and affluent fantasy many expected it would embrace from the start. The finale believes over-the-top feel-good vibes compensate for Michelle's dearth of actual vision or experience as a educator. And, broadly, yay for Brett and Michelle reconciling and Alex and Tina kissing, but even these hoped-for moments ring a tad false because they are rushed and tidy.

I agree, somehow the series finale was mawkish and saccharine enough that it made me not that sad to see the show go. Way to undo all of your goodwill in one fell swoop.
