Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
I liked it. It seems to be really going to the truth by going towards how badly the prosecution fucked it up. And all the actors are game. No real bad link so far. Cuba is doing good.
Nothing amazing, but it's interesting as I was too young to really follow it.

Yeah, the first episode was great. Sarah Paulson!

I knew they would end the first ep like that. I hope the 2nd is all the chase.

I've never liked a Ryan Murphy show, but this looks so darn juicy. Wordplay aside, I did record this.

Murphy is an executive producer and directed the first two episodes of the season, but he didn't write any of it and didn't create it either.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Cuba as OJ is weird and the direct acknowledgements of the Kardashian children was annoying. Other than that I liked it though. And I wasn't culturally aware during this time period, so the story will be mostly new to me other than the end.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
A very well-crafted and involving pilot, nicely presenting the first chapter of this notorious case in an electrifying present tense. Sarah Paulson and Courtney B. Vance are dynamite. John Travolta is campy and fun.
However, I am distracted by Cuba Gooding, Jr. He is not performing poorly per se, but I just do not see an iota of O. J. in him. His voice is a hundred and one octaves too high, and he has no imposing physical presence.

Felt compelled to check out the first episode. Great so far. Story is fascinating. About Cuba, I like him still, even I don't feel he really gets in the part, and its just feels like he's playing himself. Love everyone else.

Pilot was very solid. The entire cast is superb, but Cuba's high voice is so distracting as O.J.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Another great episode, but the scene with the Kardashian kids was so damn cringeworthy. David Schwimmer is actually really solid as Robert Kardashian, but the references are pretty annoying and wtf is going on with Travolta's hair piece lol!.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
This show is absolutely terrific. I have certain misgivings (I still kind of think Cuba Gooding Jr. is a bit miscast), but man.
It's almost hard to believe the Bronco chase really happened, and yet I remember it vividly.
Courtney B. Vance and Sarah Paulson are killing it. And I think David Schwimmer has been surprisingly effective as well.

Havent seen the show yet but these were always great choices for the roles. Glad they live up to expectations. I could never picture Cuba Gooding Jr in the role - he's too harmless/young looking to play OJ but I suspect he's fine. Travolta on the other hand looks cringe worthy.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
I'm a fan of Travolta so I'm quite pleased to see him flourish in this role. And this episode was just great, surreal it actually happened. Everything about the OJ case is pretty much totally new to me, and I really love the way they're telling this story.

I'm loving this series. But that opening scene with Rob lecturing his kids about being famous made me sick to my stomach...

Though I knew some people have been turned off whenever we get these Kardashian family moments. Personally, I think they're deeply, darkly funny. Like, Robert Kardashian (a seemingly good, virtuous man who wanted to see the best in people) must be rolling over in his grave seeing how his demon spawn children turned out.

Yeah it's a trashy Mad Men, but so addictive. I didn't even mind the Kardashian scene this time.

Thought that scene was so cunning, liked a lot. Travolta was very good in this episode, and I'm so glad to see the rough outlines of how the case was unveiled, as I was previously totally unaware of the process.

I enjoyed the pilot immensely. And i take back what i said about Travolta. He's alot of fun as Shapiro.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
I find this series at once extremely well-crafted and a bit boring. So far, it has not escaped this sense of...vacuum-sealed reenactment. I can easily admire the care with which they have put every scene together, but it rarely grabs me by the throat.
And Cuba's miscasting remains a distraction.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Courtney B Vance's jail house "run of your life" chat with OJ in today's episode is simply electrifying. Pure magnetism.
