And I am a big, big Friends fan, fantastic writing and characters. It just seems so superficial, even for a sitcom (which I know was kind of the point and part of the joke). But of course it's still head and shoulders above 95% of other TV dreck, it's only in the context of these other alltime classic shows that I would rate it so low.

Are we glad? I kind of am but also sceptical. I dislike reunion shows as they are never the same. But I really would love to see what they come up with. I hope they keep it contemporary and don't try and make it like the Friends of the 90s. I suppose none of the stars are doing anything else at the moment, so a reunion show sounded like a good idea. Couldn't have been done, say, five years ago because Aniston was enjoying a movie career. But now that's dried up!

There is no reunion show though. They are just appearing in a show celebrating Jim Burrows career. Likely not in character either. And possibly not all in the same room. The click bait news outlets make it sound like its a Friends reunion show which it isnt.

What are you talking about Algren? Perry, kudrow, LeBlanc, star on hit shows now. Cox's just ended. Aniston's last film had pretty big awards attention., and has 4 coming up. Schwimmer is the only one not to really do anything, but that was more his choice. Also it's not a reunion show. Just a celebration of a director, and the cast of Friends has been invited. That being said. Burrows is legend, will definitely try and check out.

Yeah, this is a major fail (or success, depending on your viewpoint) of social media to drum up interest by tricking people into thinking a Friends reunion was happening. The best one can hope for is that they'll appear together, but even that is sounding unlikely. Glad to see James Burrows getting this special. For as long as I've been following TV closely, he's been a big name in sitcom directing.
