Post #SNL40 - Saturday Night Live anniversary show
Who's pumped? Personally, excited for Eddie Murphy's return

Figured it'd be good to consolidate our Live Tweeting when #SNL40 comes on. So I've made this group and started adding members: https://twitter.com/SNLinReview/lists/s ... -live-club

Subscribe or let me know if you want me to make you a member. Should be a good stream during next Sunday's show

LETS DISCUSS

Once again Paul McCartney sang live and once again he sucked.

And unlike the 25th Anniversary show I'm glad they're doing sketches instead of just retrospectives, but they haven't been very good so far.

Glad to see Jane Curtin is back. She must've forgiven Lorne.

Oh Emma Stone. You're usually great. But you don't do Rosanne Rosanna Danna especially with Gilda dead.

Same goes for you Melissa McCarthy. You're not Chris Farley.

I was thinking its time for him to just retire and write stuff for others exclusively

The best way to describe it is that it's funny, but all over the place.

Now we're on to the Eddie Murphy ass-kissing section.

I thought it was funny so far. The best bits have been the Jeopardy sketch and the musical one. Seeing Bill Murray sing Jaws was funny.

Kayne barely getting any applause when he was introduced might be the highlight of the show.

I thought Kanye and Miley were the low points so far. It was sad seeing all those who had died in the past. It was fitting they saved Belushi and Radner for last

It was great seeing Mike Myers and Dana Carvey together again. I wonder if they still hate each other. And all the potshots at Kanye was great.

Why do they keep flashing up pictures of people who aren't dead? Writer Jim Downey* isn't dead.

*I just learned through a simple Google search that Jim Downey is brothers with Robert Downey Sr. which makes him Robert Downey Jr.'s uncle.

That was the best bit of the whole show.

Was Cheri oteri on the show tonight?

They should gave done classic bits with everyone. Like one sketch they are memorable for and make it a quick one too.

I hear Eddie Murphy's appearance was a total dud and nonevent.

I thought that and the Jeopardy skit were great. I like the Blues Brothers part, but it should have been longer.

It was basically Chris Rock kissing his ass for a few minutes.

This was basically a mess but I enjoyed the hell out of myself. It was like a Valentine to longtime SNL fans.

Yeah that didn't work. I was wanting to see Murphy at least do one act. If Mike Myers can actually do Wayne again, Murphy could have done something else. And Chevy Chase looked awful, I can understand why he didn't try to do a sketch, he probably screw it up. I was glad Dan Aykroyd, Jane Curtin, and Bill Murray actually did a few.

The random bit with Sarah Palin cracked me up.
