The season premiere is currently on Showtime Anytime and I believe Showtime on demand.

I watched it last night and it was great. So happy to have this show back. It is seriously the best, most underrated show on TV right now.

The premiere was good. Hopefully this season is more "fun" than last year, which was admittedly very heavy. And the less Steve/Jimmy the better, they can honestly delay his return as long as possible.

Second episode was really good. As usual Fiona's plotline is the best. I don't think Emily Bergl's character is working though - she's annoying as hell (even though Sheila's reactions to her are hysterical and echo my sentiments exactly ;) ).

This latest season has been fucking terrible and borderline unwatchable. Fiona, V, Kev, Svetlana and Lip are the only somewhat likable characters now. Debbie and Carl's plotlines this year have been excruciating.

So, this latest season was really good! The best the show has been since season 4, in my opinion. The season finale was wonderful and Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy were incredible. It was clearly written as a series finale too before they knew Emmy's pay dispute would be resolved - a lot of storylines were wrapped up - but I'm excited to see where they go next year with season 8.

I am almost certain next year will be the last though. Not really sure where else the story can go.

Has this show enjoyed a random surge in popularity? I now see lots of...shall we say...less intellectual people I knew in high school mentioning it, particularly their love of a character called Lip.

They added it to Netflix recently which could explain it. It's always been one of Showtime's highest rated shows though.

Lip is fine (one of the better characters on the show actually) but the reason to watch the show is and always has been Emmy Rossum, which was why her potentially leaving caused such an outcry.

Have binged Seasons 1-5 (few episodes in) and do enjoy it overall. Enjoying S5 more than S4 at the moment. Can't believe there are 11 seasons of the show. I remember watching half of S1 back in 2013 when I was travelling very often and liking it but it somehow went dormant till now.
