 "Jane The Virgin"
Premieres tonight at 9PM on The CW. Anyone planning on checking this out? I wasn't interested at first but the reviews are AMAZING (easily some of the best of the fall - it has a 100% on RottenTomatoes and an 81 on Metacritic) so I have the pilot set to DVR.

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
This show sounds so stupid. But I will watch it thanks to the reviews.

I too am watching it because of the reviews. I wasn't interested before but it sounds like it could surprise.

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
Second episode was really good. This show is hilariously soapy but it handles everything in such a tongue-in-cheek way that it's actually fun. And Gina Rodriguez is excellent.

All I have to say is that the show continues to surprise me! I'm so glad The CW gave this a full season of 22 episodes!

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
Omg, 2 episodes in and I f'ing love this show, legit combination of personality and character richness, stellar lead performance and some other good ones, etc. It plays with its "telenova" side well bc the show it's partly about how reality is different than fantasy

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
This show is so much fun. So glad it's been able to get some awards attention this year, it's totally filling the "Ugly Betty" void for me and Gina Rodriguez is sensational. They have also been able to flesh out all of the smaller characters that could have been one-note, like Petra, who I'm actually enjoying a lot despite essentially being the "villain."

Last night's episode was brilliant. I'm glad Jane made the sacrificed her graduation to take her test for any abnormalities on the baby. That ending:

This show is seriously so awesome. I love how it doesn't take the concept seriously at all, but the characters are all likable and feel like real people. Gina Rodriguez is such a star.

I agree with you that Gina is very likable especially in her speech when she necessarily won best actress at the Golden Globes for a Comedy.

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
The finale was so good! Everything involving the birth was adorable, especially Xiomara making it at the last minute to be there for Jane. Also, I'm still team Rafael. I don't give a fuck about Michael And great cliffhangers across the board. They'll definitely have the baby back by the end of the premiere.

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
The CW's campaign for an Emmy for Gina Rodriguez has started with an ad that uses quotes she has said during her various appearances throughout the first season. I seriously love her. I can't wait to see her career blossom - she's a superstar in the making.

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
I'm FINALLY catching up on this show and I love it (just finished episode 12, or the one with the Sin Rostro reveal). I love how wonderfully charming and hilariously telenovela-esque it is.
Gina Rodriguez is a wonder.

Gina Rodriguez is a wonder. Plus, the show only gets stronger in the second half. It truly is a wonderful first season - I really don't know how they'll be able to keep up the momentum (or at least how they'll keep the drama grounded).

Re: "Jane The Virgin" (Season 1)
Just finished Season 1. Such a great show. I want Jane with Michael already. Such a sweet guy and I feel so bad for him that he was with her for so long without getting laid and then she dumped him for stupid Rafael. Not cool at all. I'm glad she hasn't given it up to Rafael yet though. Still hoping Michael can be her first.
To be honest I was kind of thinking she might miscarry and lose the baby in the finale, which wouldn't have been the worst thing.
Bring on Season 2.
