 "Red Band Society" (Season 1)  This series doesn't premiere until September 17th but the pilot has been made available early for a limited time on FOX.com and Hulu. I thought the first episode was pretty good. It has a lot of potential and seems like it's going for a "Glee" meets Fault In Our Stars vibe. Octavia Spencer is fantastic and the teen actors are also pretty solid. Not sure how long it is going to last as it is on a very competitive night, but I'll stick with it. Could definitely see it becoming a favorite of mine.

Re: Red Band Society (Season 1) This was alright. A bit too saccharine for my tastes. Octavia Spencer was really good and Dave Annable is super sexy with salt and pepper hair, though.

Re: "Red Band Society" (Season 1) I enjoyed the pilot. Yeah it may have tried a little too hard to play at emotions, but the cast seems to work really well together already. Too bad the premiere numbers weren't great.

Re: "Red Band Society" (Season 1) Not necessarily. It could have been done like "Glee" or something in the early years when it switched perspectives with the narration.
It was a decent enough episode in the end. The segments with the kid are annoying though.

Re: "Red Band Society" (Season 1) Apparently FOX was in discussions with ABC Studios about making this a summer series, but since it would cut the budget substantially they couldn't work it out and it's officially canceled now.
I'll watch the last three episodes. The creator has said they provide a decent amount of closure.
