The two are obviously the most beloved recent pieces of television and wll duke it out at the Emmys. This thread is about personal preference of two aspects: best series and best leading performance. You can pick both in the poll. I find it extremely tough, but I'd give both to "Breaking Bad". "True Detective" and McConaughey probably would have won for me in most other years. |

Breaking Bad by a mile. Episode 4 of Detective was incredible, one of the best episodes of television I've seen. Seven out of the eight Breaking Bads were at or near that level. |

I know you've been campaigning for "The Good Wife" for years now and I know I have asked this question many times before, but...really? In my wildest imaginations I struggle to imagine it being on par with "Breaking Bad", especially considering it is a network legal drama! |

I feel the same way Lecter. I don't know, I see Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski and legal drama and I just don't get excited. Nothing wrong with any of those factors, singularly or combined, but I just don't get it. Same with Scandal. |

I did get the first two seasons of "The Good Wife" based on Libs' gushing alone. As far as drama series are concerned, she and I seem to have a similar taste, so... It is just difficult to imagine. |

TRUE DETECTIVE's great but BREAKING BAD 5.2 is the strongest season of television I've ever seen. And fantastic as McConaughey was, Cranston in "Ozymandias" runs laps around him. |

The quality is on par with any prestige cable series, which is even more of an accomplishment considering they have 22 episodes and not 12. I'm glad you picked up the first two seasons. It's my favorite show, honestly. Can't wait to hear what you think

The last season was broadcast in 2 parts of 8 episodes each...not sure how long the break was between the two parts. |
