Did anyone catch any of the episodes of Carson On TCM hosted by Conan O'Brien? It is repackaged old interviews from 70's and 80's episodes of the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson featuring interesting past and future movie stars. There are currently 25 interviews screening on Tuesday nights in March. This week's episodes included Arnold Schwarenegger talking about his upcoming role in Conan The Barbarian (the guy was a super smart pro from the start, he even had a less thick accent back then), Sylvester Stallone talking about his sleeper hit Rocky, Sean Connery and Michael Caine on The Man Who Would Be King and Connery's distaste for the James Bond role, Julie Andrews on her topless appearance in her husband Blake Edwards' S.O.B., and a hilarious Dudley Moore on the chances his upcoming movie 10 will be a hit. Other episodes have features greats from the past such as Fred Astaire, Jimmy Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Bing Crosby, Truman Capote, and Lauren Bacall. Next week's episode has interviews with Carson on TCM: Lucille Ball (1977), Carol Burnett (1979), Candice Bergen (1984), Don Adams (1980), Jack Benny (1973), and Red Skelton (1983) |
