The Thread Where We Bid Good Riddance To Everybody Loves Ray
That's Raymond.. Everybody Loves Raymond and good riddance on a show that was once good and now dragged out more and more will finally come to an end, a much needed end on May 16th.... Time for this sitcom to be put out to the pasture and makes me wonder if we'll actually see Ray have sex with his wife on the Finale since it seems like you never see them do it or even implied.. Has this show become to squeeky clean or what?? How many ways can you do a finale to something like this the way it's setup in the storyline??? I see either Ray and his wife and children move out of State after Ray gets a job offer, or the Parents move away or the Brother moves away.. What other way is there to go with in ending this show???

I think he should wake up as Bob Newhart in bed in the 70's Bob Newhart show, and we find the entire series was a dream that Newhart had.
Or, Ray could fly off in a helicopter and see where Debra has spelled out Goodbye in rocks on the ground.
Or, perhaps the entire cast could end up in jail in New England.
Or, I think it should end with a Ross and Rachel wedding.
One of those would be good.

They really need to end the show with a bang. It has been one of the better sitcoms on tv, sad to see one of the best in a dying genre comes to an end.

Oh yes, that would be so many different levels of awesome! Then, have Ray join 24 next season, and be killed off in the second episode.
Goodbye, Ray. I haven't really loved you. Sorry!

They should have long ago renamed it "The Bitch and Wimp Show". She's a shrew and he's a useless dumbass. It had some funny moments, though, and filled a void during a bad era for comedy when there wasn't much else.

Sniff sniff.. Your 1st part about Debra spelling out GOODBYE with the rocks really made me tear up thinking abiut the final episode of M*A*S*H.. Still considered today and in the Guiness Book of Worlds Records as the most watched Series Finale at like 83 Million people which was ALOT for 1983... It ended beautifully and next to that would be NEWHART.. SIENFELD Sucked, FRIENDS Sucked, both Finales Sucked..

MASH and Newhart were brilliant endings.
Seinfeld had a brilliant idea in there somewhere, but it was executed poorly. Still it was prety gutsy to end with your lead characters all in jail, so I give them credit for going against the grain.
Friends was a ho-hum, nothing shocking standard cookie cutter ending. Ross and Rachel get together!?!?!
Cheers ending was pretty standard, but gets props for ending on a very low key note and no real big developments.
I think Everybody Loves Raymond will end will likely be very boring - more so than any of the ones above. The show simply does not lend itself for a brilliant ending, or amazing twist. It'll be a touchy-feely crapfest, IMO. I don't hate the show, I think it has it's moments, but this will be a boring ending.

I agree. There will be no comedy left worth watching when it leaves. I'll have to resort to DVD's of it and Friends, I guess.

Are we watching the same show?
How this series has stayed on air for as long as it has must be down to old peoples homes having the tv networks locked on CBS; because ill be damned if this sitcom isnt the worst one ive ever seen. I've seen 8 episodes. I didn't laugh once and vowed never to watch it again because not only did i not give a shit about anyone onscreen; but the writing was like they carbon copied a reallllly bad episode of friends, then put the script in a river so half of the nearly funny lines were wiped out and we are left with a clunky mess. All of the actors have no comedic timing whatsoever and the monotomy of , god forbid, delivering a line is enough to send an audience into a coma.
Hope and Faith is the example of a really corny, bad comedy which is a guilty pleasure [because of its mildly unique subject matter and a disasterously overacting cast] And its a show which Everybody Loves Raymond could only aspire to be; for at least Hope and Faith had one redeeming quality in Kelly Ripas breasticle space; what does Raymond have? Aside from the ability to bore the masses?
Meanwhile truly hillarious sitcoms in 8 Simple Rules and Less than Perfect teeter on cancellation. Why is it that all the actually good shows seem to be nearly cancelled, whilst dumb shows pull in the viewers?
The mystery will end. Thank god.

Most of you here don't like the show because you can't relate to it. I can and so can tens of millions of others, and that's why the show is a hit. The characters are just so well-developed and do realistic and everyday things. It's just life.

That is very true, Raymond is also better than the sitcom crap they diss out at ABC's TGIFs lineup. I really dont know where all the hate comes from for Raymond, its actually a decent show and the characters are flawed but likeable people. Now crap like Still Standing remaining on air is a different question

Hope & Faith might be a little inane, but I think 8 Simple Rules is very grounded and doesn't get enough attention.
You're right about Still Standing, though. Other shows of its ilk such as Yes, Dear and According to Jim continue to mystify me as to why anyone would choose to watch them. That's just me, though.
