Black Sails (Starz)
Executive produced by Michael Bay, this series is a prequel to Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. It is already renewed for a ten-episode second season in advance of its debut on January 25th on Starz.
This could definitely be entertaining, if also overheated and a bit corny. I have a major soft spot for any seafaring adventure. It should be an amazing series on a technical level.

I found the first episode of this to be a dreadful bore.

I heard this show sucked so I never bothered watching the first episode, though I was mildly interested.

The show is mostly trash, like all Starz shows sans Party Down. However, it does have a really great opening title sequence.
I would vote that theme song of the year if we did awards for television.

I don't mind that its a trashy show. Its just that its boring and trashy. Why couldn't it be entertaining trash like Spartacus and Banshee?
