I guess the CBS Thursday block is ending?

 I guess the CBS Thursday block is ending? Quote: NEW YORK – The National Football League will team with long-time broadcast partner CBS to produce and televise Thursday Night Football for the 2014 season, it was announced today by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, CBS Corporation President and CEO Leslie Moonves and CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus.
CBS will air eight early season games that also will be simulcast on NFL Network. NFL Network will also televise eight late-season games in the run-up to the playoffs. The mix of games will include 14 on Thursday nights and two late-season games on Saturday. Guess this means at least The Crazy Ones and probably 2.5 Men are cancelled. Elementary is probably getting moved to Sundays at the expense of either The Good Wife or The Mentalist.

Re: I guess the CBS Thursday block is ending? I'm pretty sure TGW is getting two more seasons based on the episode naming. It's also one of the few shows that brings CBS a couple of awards nominations.

Re: I guess the CBS Thursday block is ending? I don't think the block is ending next season. I suspect CBS will just postpone it until November and possibly air new episodes of The Big Bang Theory on Mondays until then.
Remember, this will only take up CBS' Thursday schedule for eight weeks, not the entire football season. I doubt this much affects the renewal chances of any of their shows.

Re: I guess the CBS Thursday block is ending? I agree with Magnus and Libs, I don't see the block ending. I do think CBS will use the NFL games to promote the block returning in early November.

Re: I guess the CBS Thursday block is ending? Well it's definitely sounding like there won't be a comedy block on Thursdays anymore despite football as the CEO of CBS said The Big Bang Theory will be starting on a new night next season. Probably means Mondays.

I could see CBS airing The Big Bang Theory on Mondays at 9/8c before moving it back to Thursdays at 8/7c in November.
