So far, I love this series. (The character and his world are new to me, though I understand there is an established cult fan base generated by a series of novels and prior television adaptations in the 1970s.) It is a perfect summer scratch for my Downton Abbey and Outlander itches: adventurous, atmospheric, romantic, sweeping, etc. And Eleanor Tomlinson is charismatic and gorgeous. I remember loving her in the undervalued Jack the Giant Slayer and am glad to see her again.

I am not sure if/how PBS reports ratings, but I hope it is a hit by their standard, although I know the BBC has already commissioned a second season.
