 Under the Dome
Is anyone watching this right now? It's a limited series of 13 episodes based on the Stephen King novel. Stars Mike Vogel, Dean Norris, Rachelle Lefevre and Britt Robertson among others.
It's kind of intriguing. Not bad for a network summer series.

 Re: Under the Dome
Anyone read Stephen King's novel? It's his best work in ages, IMO.

 Re: Under the Dome
I watched about 15 minutes or so of the pilot and found it pretty cheesy. May catch up eventually though.

 Re: Under the Dome
Will be interesting to see how this holds up in the ratings for the second episode. I don't see why it can't at least keep above 9 Million. Will probably drop more as it goes on though.

 Re: Under the Dome
This show is super cheesy but I'm kind of enjoying it as undemanding summer TV. It does seem hampered a bit by being on CBS; it often feels more bland than it should.
Kidnapped Girl needs to find a way to escape Rapey Andy Samberg (seriously, look at him), though. We don't need a redux of Kim Bauer trapped with a cougar.

 Re: Under the Dome
Because I had no idea this was on last night, I only recorded the final 15 minutes. Anything important happen before then?

 Re: Under the Dome
The pilot is still the best episode so far. Last night's was pretty slow. I don't really understand why most of the characters seem oddly unconcerned with their predicament of, you know, being trapped under a dome. The dome might as well not even be there going by the characters' behavior.
Also, free Angie from the clutches of Rapey Andy Samberg, please. I've had enough.

 Re: Under the Dome
This show is getting sillier with each episode. Most of the characters are too stupid to possibly exist.

Chippy wrote: Except She's Out of My League guy. Who's that? Do you mean the kid who's half of the Seizure Twins? If so, I will give him credit for two of the better moments in the episode: a) FINALLY asking someone where his sister is...I mean, hellob) the creepy "shhhh" to the camera during the seizure episode Edit: Oh, I didn't realize Mike Vogel was in that movie. Yes, Barbie and Big Jim are the show's two best characters probably. Rapey Andy Samberg is still the worst by far, although Truth Seeking Reporter Lady is making a case for herself.

Yeah, Barbie. He's my fave. Followed by kid who doesn't care about his sister.

 Re: Under the Dome
Just a weird episode. Big Jim is all over the place, decision wise.
Rapey Samberg is just... annoying, along with his prisoner girlfriend.
Why would they think a bomb would destroy the dome? It's obviously not man made. This town is full of idiots.

 Re: Under the Dome
I still enjoy how the townsfolk of Chester's Mill are remarkably unconcerned with anything that ever happens. That was the calmest "evacuate to a shelter because a massive bomb is gonna be dropped on us" I've ever seen.
Was anyone not happy when Big Jim finally killed the annoying reverend?
Angie being freed from the bunker only to run into Rapey Andy Samberg in her own house felt like every stalker/evil person thriller ever made. And then I started screaming things at the TV when she got all sympathetic and caring towards him for some unknown reason. But at least they got her out of that damn bunker.
Other hilarious moments: -Cop Linda warning that they needed to put police tape around the dome so no one would touch it, then making out with her boyfriend against the dome about 5 seconds later -Goofy DJ saying "Hey, that's my sister!" in excitement to no one in particular -Nerdy Kid saying "Hey, that's your dad!" when Goth Girl's dad showed up (um...duh?)
Despite all these complaints, this episode had some intrigue and promising developments. It seems like every time they're about to beat out The Following for the most hilariously stupid show on TV that they correct themselves and right the ship. Also, Mike Vogel is really hot.
It is gonna be weird watching Dean Norris on Breaking Bad one night and then on this the next night, both in how different the characters are and how different the quality of the shows are.

Mike Vogel is really the only reason to watch the show. And to recite every line of the show before it is said.
