 Re: I miss Homeland
Yeah, it premieres after the new season of "Dexter" and the new series "Ray Donovan" with Liev Schrieber complete their runs on Showtime. Both of those are launching in about a month with 13 episodes, so they'll play into September.

I love Homeland. .... although I think more fondly of its first season. Can't wait for it to come back though.

lolololol poor Homeland. Only the series finale of Breaking Bad and the season premiere of Homeland air at the same time (September 29). That's still annoying, though. Especially since The Good Wife and Revenge also air in that time slot grrrr

 Re: I miss Homeland
Homeland is better than any of those shows, so whatever. The Breaking Bad series finale being on at the same time as the premiere is annoying though.

 Re: I miss Homeland
I think I have given up on Homeland. I may catch up on it after the season ends depending if they have improved the show over season 1. Showtime needs to find another show to fill in the void of Dexter.

 Re: I miss Homeland
We aren't pretending this show is worse than something like Revenge, right? Breaking Bad I can understand at least. Mad Men and GOT, no, this is better.
I don't get the season 2 backlash at all. I thought it was excellent.

 Re: I miss Homeland
Season 2 had unnecessary fillers and a cough out of an ending. In fact, the whole terrorism angle has already been explored by 24 and Sleeper Cell so the show wasn't exactly innovative. Its not really hard to see why people like Mad Men and Game of Thrones better because they offer a lot in conversation and offer a lot of new ideas. Those two shows are big water cooler and twitter conversation starters.

You might not like it as much as Mad Men or Game of Thrones but it's pretty in style right now.

 Re: I miss Homeland
Basically every episode of last season had some batshit crazy ending that provoked a lot of discussion, good and bad. It's certainly one of the most talked-about shows on TV at the moment.

 Re: I miss Homeland
Homeland is like Walking Dead, except they get all their good episodes out of the way early rather than space them out.

 Re: I miss Homeland
I miss good Homeland which is probably coming back never
They somehow squeezed the entire lifespan of a quality tv show into just the 12 episodes of season two. The first few: "holy crap this is fantastic, bold tv. these guys know how to write a good goddamn show. I cant believe how fast paced this is. Emmys for everyone! Ugh there's only 12 episodes." Middle of the the season: "this has been pretty disappointing, I hope they can get back on track. They are burning through plot too fast! Shark jump? No...i trust these writers." End of the season: "wow this show Is objectively terrible and stupid. Thank god its over. i may never watch again. When does mad men come back? This shit will still win a bunch of Emmys though, gross"

Whatever. Season 2 was no worse than season 1, IMO. Both were flawless.

 Re: I miss Homeland
I now feel like I'm being too hard on it. It's still like a B+ show, it is just frustrating that it could be an A+ show given the strong season premiere's and performances of the two leads.
