Mom was the world's most obvious series pickup. I wonder where they'll put it on the sched. |

CBS is also likely going to pick up 3-4 more comedies. Right now the ones with the highest amount of buzz are the Robin Williams/Sarah Michelle Gellar starrer "The Crazy Ones," the untitled Will Arnett/Greg Garcia pilot and the James Van Der Beek/Brooklyn Decker starrer "Friends With Better Lives." Hoping for a surprise "Bad Teacher" pickup, only because I'd like to see Ari Graynor in a sitcom every week. |

The 8:30 slot helped launch 2 Broke Girls into a hit, although I think they should try Mom as a lead-out from The Big Bang Theory. The show will probably be a hit. I've been waiting for poor Anna Faris to escape from many of the lame movies she's usually stuck in and anchor a hit series. I also hope The Crazy Ones is picked up AND is good because my expectations are pretty high for it. |

Yeah, 'The Crazy Ones' and 'Sleepy Hollow' are my most anticipated for next season. I don't have much faith in the 'Beverly Hills Cop' series. |

I wonder where we'll see the crazy schedule changes next season. Something tells me it'll be CBS, possibly doing a 2-hour comedy block on Thursdays. That way they could do Moms at 8:30 while moving 2.5 Men to 9. That would probably mean a move of Elementary or Person of Interest to possibly Wednesday. I could also see NBC not doing 2 hours of comedy on Thursday next season. |

I really hope that Mom is a hit (and that it's actually good). Anna Faris is legit one of my favorite actresses working today. Even in mediocre movies she shines. What's Your Number? wouldn't have even been even funny without her. ![]() Libs, have you ever seen May? She was fantastic in that. |

I'm not sure Libs could handle May. ![]() ![]() I agree with Libs. Mom should be a lead-out from Big Bang. At least for a while to get enough people to sample it. |

A two season pickup for Castle is reportedly looming. http://www.deadline.com/2013/05/abcs-ca ... on-pickup/ |

Castle has had such an interesting run. It has kind of just been there but has had a consistent run so far. |

I wonder if the companion books make decent profit? I understand extending the order = $$$ syndication money but the show now gets low 2s (and the occasional high 1s) in the demo, for sure in two years it will reach Body of Proof numbers... although by then those numbers would be classified as successful lol. Just like Bones, it is remarkably consistent each season. |

ABC may even be picking up "Body of Proof" for a fourth season. Apparently they are pleased with the revamp it had this season, the show isn't that expensive to produce because it won some tax lottery in CA, and it's HUGE internationally. |

I think they should pick up Body of Proof. Just make sure it has a strong lead-in. They've come this far. May as well at least get it to syndication. I'm excited for Upfront week. A little nervous too ![]() |

The demo ratings for it are shit, but in terms of total audience it is one of ABC's higher-rated shows. |

NBC has officially passed on the following pilots: "The Hatfields & McCoys" (the modern-day soap starring Virginia Madsen and Sophia Bush) "Joe, Joe & Jane" (sitcom starring Dave Annable/Sally Pressman) "The Gates" (Ken Marino sitcom) "Holding Patterns" (The Erinn Hayes plane crash comedy - seriously) "The Secret Lives Of Husbands and Wives" (Jerry Bruckheimer produced soap) "Brenda Forever" (Ellie Kemper sitcom) Only really upset about the last one because I love Ellie Kemper ![]() This bodes well for a pickup for "About A Boy," which was one of my favorite sitcom pilot scripts. "Deception" has also been canceled after 1 season. |

^ if that means Ellie Kemper can recur more often on Mindy Project, I guess I can live with that lol. |

Slightly surprised NBC passed on Hatfields & McCoys. COME BACK TO US, VIRGINIA MADSEN. But I expect NBC to order relatively few dramas since they renewed a lot of them already. Also, it's so weird Chyler Leigh was starring on a sitcom about a plane crash given the fate of Lexie Grey. |

My anticipation for an Anna Faris/Allison Janney sitcom could end up being trumped by my hatred for all things Chuck Lorre. |

Fox has picked up the following new drama pilots for next season: Almost Human (sci-fi police drama produced by J.J. The script for "Sleepy Hollow" is A.W.F.U.L. I can't believe they picked it up. "Rake" should be good though. |

Fox has additionally picked up the following comedies for next season, all for 13 episode orders (at least for now): Dads (already ordered to series, exec produced by Seth MacFarlane, starring Giovanni Ribisi) Brooklyn Nine-Nine (cop comedy starring Andy Samberg) Surviving Jack (starring Chris Meloni) Enlisted (army comedy starring Geoff Stults) Us & Them (relationship comedy with Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel) |

NBC passing on Hatfields and McCoy? Does it mean that History Channel has a chance to pick it up since the miniseries originally aired there and that they were already successful with their scripted shows? |
