In a time when the media and reporters immediately fill us in on on-set fights, salary boycots, guest appearances, contractual obligations and let-go's, do you think the news sort of ruins the fun??

Let's take ALIAS (for two examples)

1) the rumors and reports of Micheal Vartan and Jennifer's spite over the break-up, it stirred rumors of uneven chemistry and viewers picked it up (not saying we wouldn't ahve it were never announced)

2) Re-signing Lena Olin for the next season and this season's finale. This defintely takes the shock and surprise (and maybe cliff-hanger) away or reduces it.

Or some type of show like LOST....
Say they report a guest appearance or just an addition of a character that has signed on for a certain number of episodes. We know he will either die or disappear from the show because we already heard he has a finite number of episodes.

So do you guys think it affects how you watch a show?

Another example i can think of is how the WB announced that James Marsters would be joining the cast of Angel for S5 before BtVS even ended. I made a point of not reading stuff about BtVS but it was all over the news and kind of ruined it.
