 "Go On" (Season 1)
As of right now, this has my vote for the most pleasant surprise of the new season. I wasn't a big fan of the pilot, but every episode since then has been getting better and better and I've come to really enjoy the ensemble. It isn't exactly hilarious, but it's sweet and good-natured entertainment and the charismatic cast really makes it work. I have a feeling it will only get better as the season progresses (especially since it's assured a full season order now with the good ratings, IMO). Also, Lauren Graham is guest starring on an upcoming episode! That should be a great one.

I actually liked the pilot quite a bit. It wasn't flawless, but I liked the blend of comedy and drama.

I've always liked pretty much anything Perry has been in. So I really like this.

Last episode was horrible. Didn't like his dead wife coming back as a ghost.

Huh? I thought it was done well. It wasn't the best episode, but it was still fine.

 Re: "Go On" (Season 1)
To me that seems like something a show would do in its 7th or 8th season in a jump the shark moment.

Best episode so far last night, hands down. The presence of Lauren Graham really elevated this one. It was the perfect balance of funny (the sofa bed scene in particular was hilarious) and sweet. The last scene between Graham and Perry was really natural and the chemistry is definitely there - she's a perfect fit for this show and I'd like to continue seeing her make guest appearances as long as "Parenthood" isn't cancelled

Did anyone watch the Courteney Cox episode last night? It was hilarious and she was awesome. So great to see her and Perry back together again - I was a little disappointed her character ended up being crazy as I would have liked to have seen her return at some point.

I haven't been watching this show but will see this episode to see my Mondler reunion!

It's a great standalone episode I think. You don't really need to know anything about the overarching plot other than the basic concept of the series.

Could you tell me the basics, please? Matthew Perry is a sportscaster, his wife dies. He gets convinced to join a support group to cope with it, and it's filled with many wacky personalities. There's a bit of sexual tension between him and the group leader - with them definitely hinting at a romance later on in the series. The Courteney Cox episode focuses on Perry and a member of the group who is a lesbian and recently lost her wife.
