Post The Vampire Diaries (Season 4)
Image

Just finished catching up with the series tonight and I am pumped for Season 4 after that incredible season 3 finale (maybe the show's best episode, at least Top 3). I wonder how they'll approach this season as my guess is it will be more council vs. vampires with a couple of episodes with help from the Originals.

Can't wait for Thursday!

This show is fantastic. Much better than the mess that "True Blood" has become at this point. Can't wait for season 4.

Are you kidding? "True Blood" was an absolute MESS this past season and boring as hell. I'm half considering dropping it.

Well we'll see how this season goes but I agree that True Blood was shit last season. Don't remember S3 of TVD that much but I didn't hate it.

You don't remember it? Well basically every episode had the same blueprint. "This is how we kill Klaus, no wait, we can't do it like that. Oh well, better luck next week." But I don't blame you for not remembering the last season. I myself vaguely know what happened. But I do remember all those fantastic moments from S1 and S2.

So it seems that both Daniel Gillies (Elijah), Claire Holt (Rebekah), and Joseph Morgan (Klaus) have all signed on full-time for Season 4. I'm extra exitced for more Elijah, out of all the originals he is by far the best and one of the best characters on the show period.

I do wonder how they are going to approach Meredith though this season and hopefully she doesn't fall into another "guardian" role for Elena and Jeremy.

I also hope we still get to see some more of Alaric which apparently he is going to make some appearances. Though I didn't love his evil side near the end of last season, his last scene with Jeremy was quite sad and proved how strong of a character he has been to the whole series even if he was underused at times.

Also, it seems Bonnie is finally getting rid of her jealous side which got to be a bit repetitive. Hopefully the writers stick with it.

Great return!

They definitely handled Elena's transformation in a much more interesting way then I would have imagined. Damon's aggression towards Matt was a bit much but then again it is Damon so it could linger for a while. Will be interesting to see how Bonnie is affected over the season with the other side, great stuff there.

The only part I was confused on was the end. I guess is the council going to be coming back from the dead or what?

Loved tonight's episode. Definitely was a bit fresh of air to have an episode without the originals and nice set-up to the next few episodes. That last scene though with Damon was perfect. Almost cried.

Probably the weakest episode of the season so far but it was still great. I'm wondering how they'll make this "cure" story seem like something completely different than Season 2. Should be an interesting ride.

Also it was great seeing Elijah back (even if it was only during flashback scenes)!

The 'cure' angle should be interesting - I wonder how much it will tie into Elena's transformation.

Also, I HATE the slayer guy. He's so annoying.

Ugh. The latest episode was pure shit. I mean really. It doesn't all have to be between 5 characters.

The CW is planning to release a spin-off series following the originals called "The Originals"

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=98799

I guessed it could work but since they have become a good part of the show now it would be odd to see that part of the cast leave. Either way, it should be another hit for CW.

Why would it star the werewolf chick? Strange. I don't know if that's a good idea.

I'm not gonna watch. The show went down the drain once The Originals overstayed their welcome since the end of season 2. They're still trying to get rid of them, 50+ episodes and counting. And obviously they will fail at killing them considering the spin-off news. Yawn!

I probably won't watch. Joseph Morgan is my least favorite series regular cast member.

Really delayed but I finally watched the Christmas episode. Carol Lockwood's death was shocking.

I'll watch the spinoff if it gets me more Rebekah. She's grossly underused on the show, even though she consistently shows wider and more interesting range of emotions than pretty much anyone. Caroline and Rebekah make the show for me, scenes without either of them (and Elena-less Damon) are really just hurdles to cross before the next Awesome happens.

The spinoff needs Elijah who is by far the best of the Originals.

and he just joined the show.

This week's episode was fairly good particularly the ending. I'm all for Stefan/Rebekah and Stefan's conversation with Elena at the end was Stefan in one of his better forms.

It will be interesting if Jeremy killing Kol later on will actually finish the map, I could see the whole thing backfiring in that respect. Also, evil Bonnie was kind of awesome.
