Wow, nice move ABC, putting "Happy Endings" up against "New Girl," which attracts the EXACT SAME DEMOGRAPHIC ![]() I really like the Sunday block though and am glad "Scandal" will be staying behind "Grey's Anatomy." |

Yeah they just killed happy endings and apt 23 with that nonsense. The new NBC comedies are in that slot too. UGH |

Scandal is a waste of a good time slot, and why the hell don't they finally move Castle and let a decent show see what it can do Mondays at 10? Absurd |

The Happy Endings/Don't Trust the B pairing makes complete sense from a tonal perspective, although I hope they'll be able to stand on their own outside of Modern Family. It's interesting just how many comedies are going to be populating that hour (it also has New Girl/Mindy on Fox and Go On/New Normal on NBC). And hey, at least neither of them are being benched to midseason. I think ABC's move of Revenge to the Desperate Housewives Sunday slot is a pretty big sign of confidence in the show. I keep waiting for it to absolutely explode, which I feel like it has the potential to do so. And maybe following ABC's other strong drama will do the trick. Of the new shows premiering in fall, I am definitely watching Nashville and 666 Park Avenue. They both sound fun and have good casts too. The Neighbors could either be good or completely awful depending on its execution, hopefully it's good. |

"The Neighbors" sounds so bad. Can't believe it got picked up over other pilots that were in the mix like the Judy Greer and Mandy Moore sitcoms. |

I like Judy Greer but ABC needs to stop trying to make a Judy Greer sitcom happen, its NOT going to happen |

Also, Last Resort sounds really good and stars the incomparable Andre Braugher, but ABC has not been able to successfully house a program in that time slot since Ugly Betty. So I'm not sure it's going to do all that well. |

Absurd This is ABC, the same network that kept Brothers & Sisters behind Desperate Housewives for its entire run, and only just now moved Private Practice out from behind Grey's. |

I don't know where else Happy Endings and Apt. 23 could go. ABC tried both after Modern Family, and neither really capitalized on the ratings. Which sucks. At least they didn't dump them on Friday nights. What's with the networks trying sitcoms on Friday nights? Even old people have lives on Fridays now. |

I think Last Man Standing/Reba have the potential to do well on Friday, actually. Let's not forget how successful TGIF was for years and years, and those two shows will skew older/towards family audiences anyway. It's interesting to look at the vast sitcom landscape next season, though. ABC seemed like they were taking a crazy risk introducing that 2-hour Wednesday comedy block three years ago; now there are sitcoms all over the freaking place. |

The Friday problem is the networks spend millions and millions on a never-changing number of pilots but, without Fridays, there are that many less places to put them. They NEED Fridays to be a viable place to stick shit. But it seems like over the last season or two the networks have started to understand and accept the level of ratings you can expect on Fridays, so hopefully they won't retreat again |

Also, to those freaking out about Happy Endings/Don't Trust the B, at least they'll have a large lead-in from DWTS. So that could give them the edge over Fox and NBC in the hour, although I imagine all three networks will be relatively close together competition-wise. |

Yes, a large lead-in of grandmothers and elderly assistance centers. Lots of audience overlap there. |

Calling it now: HE and Apt 23 don't last a month in that slot before ABC panics and gets them out of there. |

Are you excited about Revenge's move to Sundays, yoshue? I think 666 Park Avenue could conceivably break out the same way Once Upon a Time did, so ABC could start owning Sundays again. |

It COULD work but I don't think a show like Revenge is going to catch on in a big way this late in its run. I think they're looking at 2.5 as a ceiling, and I hope they're okay with that. If I'm ABC I would have just left it alone. Plus OUAT and 666 are so high concept and fantastical and Revenge is so...not. It's a weird combo. |

I guess they figured Revenge was more compatible with those shows than Nashville (that show sounds like so much fun, btw, Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere as dueling country singers!). /they're trying to keep a foothold on having a soap in that time period. |
