The Big Bang Theory Blows my mind!
I'll tell you why
The nerd girl that's Sheldons' girlfriend Amy starred as Blossom in the tv show, she looks so freakin different! Johnny Galecki was Rusty Griswald in Christmas Vacation Jim Parsons is 38 years old??????
Usually a little shock here and there, but that's too much wikipedia. Parson's age and Blossom is crazy. Parson is older than the whole cast of How I met your Mother (Well him and Harris are the same age)

Kind of sad that repeats are higher than any NBC sitcom.
I enjoy it though.

When it's on (which is slowly becoming every single hour... it's taking the place The Simpsons had about ten years ago), I'll watch it for a few minutes, maybe most of the episode, and I'll laugh here or there, but nowhere near enough to say it's the funniest show on TV. Again, broken record here, my only gripe with the show is Sheldon. I just don't find the character all that funny, and I assume he's the main reason most people love the show. But everyone else is adequate at the least.

I like that this turned halfway into an "I hate The Big Bang Theory" thread.
And all because Thegun didn't know Amy was Blossom and Leonard was one of the Rusty Griswolds.

Re: The Big Bang Theory Blows my mind!
Even though it's already the bigggest comedy right now, it does deserve some credit for being an above-average sitcom. I've enjoyed almost every episode so far, especially loved their simple 100th episode. The show does take effort to be authentic too in its references and science subjects, even having two scientists on staff if I remembering correctly.
I just can't stand Howard Wallowitz. It's still easily the best live-audience sitcom though.

On a side note: how much of an egomaniac is Chuck Lorre? Every show he has created, he gets a writing credit for almost every single episode. It's all the same for TBBT, Two and a Half Men and Mike & Molly.

TBBT and 2AAHM the top rated syndicated sitcoms? I'm pretty sure he can burn money daily.

There is no reason why this show should get close to 4X the demo of Community.

Re: The Big Bang Theory Blows my mind!
I must say I was not expecting the amount of responses.
Gallecki was also in I know what you did last summer.
But come one, when it comes to references (even science ones) there is no way this is very lazy attempts. The Simpsons, Spaced, Seinfeld, even Psych when they were on could make the most amazing references without having to be in the "wink wink its funny because nerds are saying it nudge nudge" Things were really funny even if you didn't get the reference.
This show can be funny, but it still has a more annoying laugh track than According to Jim and Everybody love's raymond.

Oh, don't get me started on the laugh track. That kind of ruins it too. What was said was funny, not the greatest gift to comedy EVER.

Re: The Big Bang Theory Blows my mind!
Its better then many shows on TV and its better then American Idol or other reality show crap.
Its also the most popular TV show in Canada.
Roughly around 10-12% of the Canadian population watches this Show every Thursday at 8pm.
The timeslot is perfect as well.
I like the nerdy references, a lot of other shows mess them up completely or go so deep into them that they confuse general audiences.

It's an absolute mockery of geek culture that I find completely offensive. It gets everything wrong and I hate it. Also, it isn't funny.
And none of the chicks are good looking. It's to nerds as Crash is to black people. It's a show about nerds that's made for people who are not nerds and have very little accurate contact with them. Or at least internet generation ones

It is kind of a lot like that.
"Haha, it's funny because Battlestar Galactica was a show I barely heard of but never watched! Oh, nerds."

All the guys now have to be paired up with a female except for one so that the single viewers won't feel too bad, or something. Now every show seems like it's one third about Amy's closet lesbianism and it's like they're now afraid of having the smart factor and the science and geek culture references too high, which is why the show was so worth watching to begin with.

Re: The Big Bang Theory Blows my mind!
The Big Bang Theory is enjoyable sitcom comfort food.
And as much as I've always found Jim Parsons and Sheldon to be the star of the show, the women have taken front and center this season. The majority of the most amusing plotlines involve Penny, Amy and Bernadette now.

Lol there's more than 1 girl now?
I stopped watching halfway into Season 3 I think. It lost its identity then and Sheldon became an annoying asshat.
Not starting it again.

Re: The Big Bang Theory Blows my mind!
So I know a lot of people can't stand this show, but it did something this week that seems very impressive.
It broke its episode ratings record, with 19.25 viewers, beating November's record set of 17.63.
So in its final season, Friends was at about 20 million viewers, but BBT seems to keep pushing itself upward, and what's surprising is that it set the record halfway through its sixth season.
From Wikipedia:
S1 2007–08, Ranked 68th place, 8.31 m viewers S2 2008–09, Ranked 44th place, 10.00 m viewers +20% S3 2009–10, Ranked 12th place, 14.14 viewers +41% S4 2010–11, Ranked 15th place, 13.14 viewers -7% S5 2011–12, Ranked 8th place, 15.82 viewers +20% S6 2012–13, Ranked 3rd place, 18.83 m viewers +19%
It's set to go until its 7th season, but with a current 3rd place ranking for the season, if this keeps up its pace the last two seasons, it could potentially become a 20 m + show and possibly top show on television. What's causing its big spike the last two seasons?

What's causing its big spike the last two seasons? I think it's gaining a lot of viewers from syndication. Also, this show is so much better than its reputation on this site would suggest. lol
