It debuted tonight and I thought it was pretty, especially Tim Allen. He is just as funny as he was when he did Home Improvement. I also liked his boss, Hector Elizondo. I think it should be a solid hit for ABC.

It wasn't as terrible as I expected. Tim Allen is good as always. The daughters are funny. Hector Elizondo was decent in his minimal screentime. The kid was good.

Unfortunately, there was way too much "I'm a man and all this technology/womanly/modern stuff is both confusing and irritating!" humor. Tons of jokes written specifically for a Republican audience. In other words, a hit with the American audience! And Nancy Travis is awful as Tim's wife. She is perpetually smirking at EVERYTHING Tim says. The fun of Home Improvement was that Jill was perpetually annoyed with Tim. I'm not sure it works if the wife finds everything the dumb husband says to be funny.

But when the show just tries to be funny without an agenda, it's funny. Tim Allen's first words are "I'm back!" and it's true. It's Tim at his blue collar comedy best. And it was ironic that throughout the episode, ABC's corner logo featured the Twitter hashtag for the show.

This was...OK. I always loved Home Improvement and the first two episodes felt like they were desperately trying to remind people of it. Maybe that'll stop, though.

Oh god.

This show has turned into lowest common denominator republican jokes. I'm not sure they can go 5 minutes without making fun of "liberals".

Friday's episode revolved around hating how old lightbulbs are illegal. COME ON.

Ugh, of course. The liberal jabs in the pilot were the worst lowest common denominator bullshit. Glad to see they've crafted an entire sitcom around it.

I haven't seen the show since season 1. It is too bad they have gone that route.

They had a semi-reunion of Home Improvement this past Friday. It was actually quite delightful.
