So I think we've all had that one show everyone recommends to you, and when you finally watch it, you say "... meh." So which beloved show can you not stand to watch no matter how many times you try? I'd prefer newer shows, but I'm not opposed to anything older.

Right now, I have to go with The Big Bang Theory. It's not that I hate it or anything, I just don't see why everyone loves it. So much of it is one-dimensional. And Jim Parsons is obviously channeling Niles Crane in Sheldon, but it doesn't work for me.. David Hyde Pierce was brilliant as Niles. Jim Parsons is good, but not great. I like Johnny Galecki more actually. He's likable as Leonard.

I laugh occasionally, but not a lot. More miss than hit. Maybe I'm just not as infatuated with "nerds" as everyone else. Maybe I haven't seen the show at its best.

The Family Guy. Wretched show and not funny at all. I did try to watch the first 2 episodes over 10 years ago, didnt seem funny at all and too much reliance on dumb pop cultural references

30 Rock.

That was my second choice. Somewhere between her rise to fame on SNL and 30 Rock, Tina Fey started believing her own hype and lost some of her wit and appeal.

Not to mention Tracy Morgan is the least funny person on the entire planet.

I cant think of any actual TV shows because i just dont watch TV. I only see Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition, Combat Hospital, Family Guy and American Dad reruns, sometimes i watch Modern Family, Happy Endings, Wipeout.

Past show i really dont like are Seinfeld, Frasier, Lost, Heroes and Dancing With the Stars

Don't know if Parks and Recreation has improved but I tried watching the first 2 episodes when it premiered. Didnt like it when it tried too hard to be The Office.

I'm watching Parks & Rec now (I'm on season 2, episode 10) and I'm really really enjoying it. And judging it based on the first 2 episodes...I'm only 16 episodes in total, and the first season is nothing at all like the 10 I've watched since then.

My answer to this question isn't on the air anymore: Everybody Loves Raymond. I can't stand that show.

That doesn't mean I can't find it grating and annoying.

yeah Ray Ramono's voice is really annoying. The comedy line up back then didnt help when they had the Nanny. It was like hearing someone scratching the chalkboard. It would have been worse if this was like broadcast radio back in the day

Seasons one and two of Parks & Rec are so disparate in tone and quality you wouldn't even think they're the same show.

I agree. Season 1 wasn't as blah as I had heard but season 2 is much, much, MUCH better so far. And like I said I'm not even halfway through the season yet.

Everybody Loves Raymond definitely. I hated hated HATED the whole "setup... setup... setup... mildly amusing punchline... TEN MINUTES OF THUNDEROUS STUDIO AUDIENCE LAUGHTER" thing.

You missed the point of the thread entirely. It's not "Shows everyone loves including me because I wouldn't dare say Seinfeld, Frasier, Lost or Dancing With the Stars sucked for fear of Mr. X losing it altogether".

I have to add Will & Grace. It came off too obnoxious to ever tickle the ol' funny bone. Thank god gay people have better representation on television today. Ten years ago, this was the best they had going for them.

I'll agree with that. I liked Brad Garrett. Still do. Peter Boyle is and was a great actor and great on the show. In fact, there were a lot of good things about Raymond. I just don't think it was as good as a lot of people made it out to be.

Especially that studio audience!
