 Misfits / E4 Series
Anyone watching? Season 2 started 2 weeks ago. Two pretty great episode so far.
I thought season 1 was good, but it had its kinks. So far season 2 is much better.

 Re: Misfits / E4 Series
I never heard of this until a couple days ago when you mentioned it, but I watched S1 today (not S2, so please no mention of it) and really did enjoy it.
The main five cast members all do pretty great, I think. Most of them aren't too likable when we meet them (especially Nathan:) but they grew on me fast. The way the show deals with the characters and has them--mostly--be better than cliche TV non-human is nice. The way they dealt with Curtis' girlfriend situation was fun. Oh, and the pop culture references all feel nicely natural. That Spider-Man line for the break up was gold. There's some solid drama and suspense with this show as well. Yay for genre meshing.
Good stuff.
The lack of follow-up by police re:missing and/or dead people located around that one community center seems odd, but it isn't so horribly unrealistic with that so it isn't really a deal breaker. On to S2...

 Re: Misfits / E4 Series
I'm very glad you liked it. About the police, I never felt like they didn't do their job. There was hardly any evidence and police departments are very lazy (at least around here). Things take years to solve and it's usually because someone other than the police stumbles upon something (just like his fiancée stumbled upon something and we know how that ended up for her).
These first two episodes of season two seem to lead to something big. I'm not sure how I feel about the masked guy/girl because from the first season his/her character seems to be leading to the show becoming another one about the superheroes and that's not something I'd like to see with Misfits. I like them just as they are now.

 Re: Misfits / E4 Series
I waited for the third ep of S2 to start before watching, and I'm glad of that since I barely had to wait any time re: the masked man.
The scene where Alicia apologized to Simon for being a bitch and whatnot was really wonderful. The actress who plays Alicia did solid work. The Nathan being a gay storyline was fun, except I think they went a little overboard with playing up his newfound gayness. Kelly didn't seem as affected. Oh, and I liked the resolution of the Kelly/Nathan thing. I'd like it if that were the end of the almost romance between them, but I accept that it might not be.
Also, Simon/Alicia had great chemistry.

I'm glad they're done with the masked man story. It felt like his deus ex machina in every episode this season. But I'm also glad they plotted the whole thing so he actually made sure things happened like they did.
It's not like Hiro in Heroes who pretty much fucked up every time he went back to the past to change something.
And the whole deal about a man living a video game was hilarious.

 Re: Misfits / E4 Series
Even though they reversed time and pretty much undid the whole of the last episode, I thought it worked. The dairy killer was great, though are we meant to assume they killed him or just prevented him from becoming famous?
I'm really liking the Simon/Alicia pairing. They've got good chemistry, plus it gives Alicia stuff to work with. I wonder what her power could be developed as? There's almost always some advancement with practice when it comes to superhero abilities, it seems anyway.
Kudos for the third probation worker to have amounted to nothing. He was just a guy doing a job, no more no less. And I'm glad they kind of undid the "superheroes come out on TV!" stuff. I want more of the quieter, personal stories of these characters before their whole world blows up.
Christmas Special on Sunday, then no more for a while:( Or will this be it for the series?

 Re: Misfits / E4 Series
This show just got picked up in the U.S. by Hulu and is "airing" this summer as an original series. They posted the first two episodes already and are adding a new episode every Monday.
I watched the pilot and it was decent. I'm watching the second episode now.

First season is good. But the second one is where the show shines. It's brilliant in its humor really.
