Re: ABC 2011/12
Everybody is playing it safe with schedules this year... Mondays are intact, Wednesday has a new comedy block. I'm surprised to see Happy Endings getting the post MF slot...
I feel great that their only fantasy series and one of their most interesting series are both on Sundays!

I just read the synopsis for ABC shows and they also seem to have a very strong slate of shows. Next season should give us a lot of good new shows.

Re: ABC 2011/12
While I'm happy ABC seems to be pushing Happy Endings (which has the potential to become as good as MF/Cougar Town are now) so enthusiastically by giving it the post-Modern Family slot, I'm kinda ticked we have to wait until January for Cougar Town. ANOTHER huge hiatus.
Comedies are EVERYWHERE this season. Look at that. So much talk after years of bombs after Friends ended that comedies were "over," and then Modern Family shows up and the game changes. When Cougar Town/Apartment 23 arrive, ABC will have two straight nights of 2-hour comedy blocks. Just like the 90s. lol
The Tim Allen sitcom could be good. Makes me nostalgic for Home Improvement on this very same network, which I guess was the intention.
I'm really surprised Good Christian Belles didn't immediately get the post-DH slot and is being held for midseason. I'm not sure if Pan Am will actually last, though, so I wouldn't be surprised to see GCB step into that slot.
Revenge sounds like it could be fun, and it has a great lead actress in Emily VanCamp. Charlie's Angels is being pushed into a very tough timeslot, but if it succeeds, it could reenergize ABC's Thursday night.
Missing, The River and Scandal all sound like dramas I'd watch...although, again, we have to wait for midseason.

Re: ABC 2011/12
Yay for "Happy Endings" getting a great timeslot, but what the hell with moving "Cougar Town" to midseason? ABC better not be killing it - it's too good for that.
All of ABC's drama pilots sound good to me. I will definitely be checking out "Once Upon A Time" (LOVED this script, LOVED it), "Pan Am,""Good Christian Belles,""Revenge" and "The River."

Very happy to see Happy Endings getting scheduled after Modern Family. Should pull in Cougar Town numbers.

I started watching Happy Endings this weekend and it is awesome. So glad it got post-MF spot.

Cougar Town
Anyway, Apartment 23 and Pan Am look like the entertaining ones. Here's the trailer for Work It, probably the worst television show in history. Aren't they embarrassed to order something like this?!

So, where is Cougar Town going to be if they gave it a full season order? Will they just wait to see if Suburgatory fails?

Ironically, it is on the same night as well. I think it will be a big hit for ABC since Allen is better suited for TV. Cougar Town will be on Tuesdays when Dancing with the Stars is finished.

It is scheduled to air Tuesdays at 9 in between cycles of DWTS. One of the new sitcoms could bomb and it could come back earlier, though.

Re: ABC 2011/12
Definitely a strange line-up, especially considering Better With You is no longer with us. They should honestly just be airing Happy Endings reruns even if it does only have 12 episodes. They can just repeat a couple of them twice towards the end of the summer season. When they do finally start airing it I'm hoping they put it after Modern Family reruns.

Re: ABC 2011/12
Patrick Dempsey just announced that the eighth season of "Grey's Anatomy" will be his last. Ellen Pompeo has already stated she is considering leaving after this year as well.
I really hope that ABC decides to end it this year properly and not drag it on for another season or so with Chyler Leigh as the main character. Shonda Rhimes has already stated that she is writing the season as the last one, since in addition Justin Chambers, Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson and other series regulars that have been there from the beginning will have to renew their contracts.
I've been a longtime fan of the show from the beginning despite the ups and downs of the past few seasons. It isn't a case like "Brothers & Sisters" where things just got atrocious in the last year, this show has always been pretty consistently good and I want a proper ending for all the central characters. I also really hope that they are somehow able to convince Katherine Heigl to come back if Justin Chambers ends up leaving, even for an episode or two.

Re: ABC 2011/12
Grey's has been really good the last couple of seasons. And the show could totally survive without Patrick Dempsey's character...not Meredith, though. I could see a scenario where they do what you said and make Lexie the main character, but I really really hope they don't do that. She's an appealing character but I don't want to see the show based around her just because her last name is also Grey.

Re: ABC 2011/12
Shonda Rhimes has said that Mer-Der won't be breaking up so if the show ends up continuing and there's a case of Ellen Pompeo staying/Patrick Dempsey going, we are definitely in for a Derek death.
The show doesn't deserve the bad rep it sometimes gets. It's never terrible. Season 4 and part of Season 6 were the only periods of the show where I'd say it was a bit bland.

I'm a Katherine Heigl apologist but the show instantly picked up when she left, not gonna lie. I always thought Heigl was excellent on the show but hatedhatedhatedhated Izzie after the first couple of seasons.

Re: ABC 2011/12
Her season 6 arc sucked before she left. I seriously think the first half of season 6 was the worst the show has ever been. I just want her to come back and have a proper resolution to her storyline.
