Did anyone else tune in tonight?
Very mediocre, in my opinion. A great deal of talent both in front of and behind the camera, but it just doesn't fly. The entire enterprise is caught in this frustrating grey zone. It does not play as the heightened, but relevant medical-industrial-complex conspiracy tale it may aspire to be, but it is also too "serious" and too slow-paced to be engaging, frightening, and/or sexy in any traditional genre way. In the end, it is just not very interesting. A lot of the veteran co-stars (James Woods, for instance) are squandered.
I might still see it through to the end, though.
Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) is so beautiful and charming. I wish she could land superior roles.
