You don't need to sticky this, Libs. But, in any event, here's my new Survivor: Vanuatu thread. I find this season is really shaping up to be a poor one. No one exciting, no one you love to hate (Jonny Fairplay?). Mostly just annoying people. Fairplay may have been annoying, but he made good television. No one is making any profound impact. Even Chad is a background guy, with nothing prominent on his lack of a leg. I want to learn more about it, because he really does better than most in the challenges. Sarge is awesome! He's the only one I truly like. Eliza is attractive. Dolly was cute, but cute girls never last. Elizabeth from Season 2 was the last.

It's interesting to see the divisions among men and women, young and old, but otherwise there isn't really a person who really stands out as a clear frontrunner or someone who's entertaining to watch. I guess they're starting to run out of people to show on reality TV, or they just picked a bad group.

It's the curse of the first show, again. Each year, there's the first and second Survivor. The first always sucks, or is at least upstaged by a later season. Season 1 was all right (it was amazing back then), but Australia really did 100 times better. Africa was awful, but Marquesas was a real treat. Thailand nearly made me lose interest, but The Amazon was pretty good. The only year where the first was better than the second was Pearl Islands being better than All-Stars.

Neleh or however you spell it got 2nd, and Amber won. They are both cute.

Back to this season, I'm enjoying it more than all stars, but it's not my favorite. No season has compared to the Australian Outback. Marqasis and Pearl Islands were close, but nothing else has come close.

I hated the mens old strategy of voting of the best players that early in the game. I think it was stupid. A women will win this time.

Another woman? I don't know. Three women have won the last three games. Jenna Morasca, Sandra, and Amber Brkich. I have the feeling a man might win it, but maybe a fourth woman will take the crown.

By the looks of things, a woman will win this one as well.

I think if a woman wins, it will be either Scout or Twila.

The younger women are either being portrayed as stupid or bitchy. Whenever there is a conflict, it's edited to make the older women look better. I don't think CBS is going to set it up so that the winner is one of the girls who all the viewers have been made to hate.

Wow, greatest episode yet. The challenges this season are great! I loved the pig catching contest and the ring on rope challenge was really cool.

I'm a bit surprised at Lisa being voted off, as the only bad thing she did was make that comment about Ami.

Ami seems to be calling all the shots.
Bubba and Lisa were voted out because she didn't trust them.
Scout appears to be in trouble, since she didn't for Lisa, but I think the women will come together and vote out Rory before Scout.

I don't like Ami that much anymore. She does seem to be calling the shots. Rory definently should have been gone, even though he is strong. The merge is coming up soon.

You know what I realized? With those big eyes, Eliza reminds me of Bambi.

I'm just not digging this season that much yet. I think it's even worse than Thailand or Africa. So far I only mildly like Sarge and perhaps the one-legged guy (Chad). But, a bad Survivor is still better than most TV shows.

Anyhow, the ironic thing is, if the male dominant tribe (Sarge's) wins immunity, it is likely a male will be voted off (although that didn't hold true last time), thus giving the females an advantage in numbers. If the female dominate tribe (Scout's) wins immunity, it is likely a female will get voted off.

Since the men are a pretty tight group, it seems like it would almost be wise to throw a few challenges and get rid of the two girls on Sarge's team, leaving a larger number of males when it comes down to merge time.

I'm looking more forward to episodes of Endurance every Saturday morning than this 9th installment of a tired franchise.

The strategy has taken such a drastic shift from the first survivor's. Most notably the early strategy of Lopevi. I remember a time when you got rid of your weakest members in the beginning as to help you win challenges in the future, not these guys. They are too busy thinking 30 days ahead, and it could have cost them a lot more than it has. They should have been aware that nothing in Survivor is predictable and a merge or switch may not have happened. They continue to get rid of their strongest members, and eventually they are suddenly 2 members strong and dead. Granted that didn't happen, but it the strategy was just a sharp contrast from Ogakor's getting rid of Mitchell because he sucked in Season 2.

Over on Yasur, the annoying young people were too much to take. Eliza, Mia...ugh, annoy and annoyed to a great extent. Ami lost my favour when she turned a fairly benign comment from Lisa into some sort of breach of trust, allowing Eliza to stay. Rory, he thinks he's some master manipulator that broke the Estrogen Posse, but I didn't see him do anything to facilitate the break up, it was all their own paranoia. Scout - well she just doesn't do anything, she is solely there because she's the "wise" elder, she's Lillian but without the scout uniform.

This past episode wasn't anything exciting either, I was shocked, SHOCKED I tell ya, to see John get the boot. There wasn't even any chance of anyone else, when there is no suspense tribal council gets really boring. What's worse is the challenges. How many obstacles can a person walk over, through, under while holding a pail of water or being linked together. How many different things can one use as a projectile to break stuff from a distance.

Perhaps if the contestants were likable I may be more inclined to get excited over the impending merge and more politicking, but really there isn't a single contestant I'm cheering for more than the rest, perhaps LeAnn, but I don't feel any great love. Survivor started to lose me after 3, 4 got back some love, 5 and 6 were disappointments, 7 restored the faith (sans Rupert) but 8 was a let down... and 9, might be the nail in the coffin.

Yeah, this season is too predictable. Almost Every episode, you can figure out who's getting voted out early on.

I think people will be disappointed with this season, and season 10 will suffer a huge ratings decline from the other seasons

Aah, men, why are you so stupid?! All 3 of you voted for different people, and one of you even backstabbed one of your own! *sigh* Though next week's episode looks to give the 2 men a chance.

The pig was interesting, though they never used him. He'll probably end up in the game till the final two, but then get backstabbed by Amy and have to home.

This isn't a great season, but it still is a good Survivor. I enjoy it. I think Eliza is really cute, but would probably be too much to handle in real life. Ami is really bitchy, and easily offended (in a way that if you cross her, she'll can your ass). Twila... I never liked her. Just way too busy. Scout is all right, I guess. Too much like Teresa of Africa, Kim from Africa, Lill from Pearl Islands, etc etc etc. Leann is all right, probably will win the whole thing. Julie seems deceitful, and I don't like her. Of the two guys left, both are likeable, but the chances of either winning are very, very slim. Chris is probably next, then a girl or two, then Chad.

I have all shows taped, and going over the old ones, it was ridiculous how many times the young guys like Brook, JP, John, and some other dude, all referred to themselves as "young, athletic, good looking guys". Isn't that a little... arrogant? Meatheads, is what I call them.

A great episode, but I did NOT like the results. Chad... the most promising character in the whole game is out! And now it looks like Scout is going to get blamed for the whole Eliza escapade in the next episode.

My predictions:

Next - Scout
2nd - Chris
3rd - Amy
4th - Twila
5th - Eliza

Final Two: Julie & Leann

WINNER: Leann

Too bad for Chad, I think next week's commercial is misleading. Rest assured, if Chris doesn't win immunity, he's gone.

How Scout and Twila didn't realize the guys were their only chance at the final four, I don't know?

I think Scout and Twila are just dumb...that, or Ami has some voodoo witchcraft on them to change their minds...

It may have just been me, but Ami looked REALLY, really good last night. Better than usual. Eliza will undoubtedly be in the final four, but probably will only notch fourth or third.

7th: Chris
6th: Julie
5th: Twila
4th: Eliza
3rd: Ami
2nd/1st: Leann and Scout

I just feel it, and I say Leann wins, because we just haven't had one of those under the radar winners since, oh I don't know, Jenna, Sandra, Amber, or Vecepia.
